@DavdMartn @crom98_ I agree that stats aren’t everything, they should be assessed in conjunction with the eye test. Not doubting Reid’s quality and potential, but I think Rankine has him covered when you assess the whole picture.

@DavdMartn @crom98_ Hard to justify Reid’s selection, not only over Ranks but over others. If it’s as a mid, Ranks and others have him covered comfortably. If it’s as a forward, Ranks 23 to his 12 goals while only averaging 1 less score involvement in a team that doesn’t score as heavily.

@SamuelPower68 The only saving grace is that we didn’t give up draft capital for him. His contributions have been solid, but doesn’t do enough. That said, he’s been a 11 disposal + 1 goal a game type operator for the majority of his career, so not sure what people were expecting.

Are we any closer to a premiership? How’s our game style? How’s the development of our players? Are we maximising the potential of our list? How would you rate his coaching on game day?

@manderovic The “contest” mantra is so unbalanced. We get sucked into the contest without affecting it (often ball watching) and then get killed on the outside when our opponent breaks from stoppage. It’s “see ball, get ball” under 9s mentality. Works against lesser oppo but not top dogs.

@nathanxromeo I hear what you’re saying but I think young talent needs an extended run in the AFL side regardless of form. We did it with Cook and are seeing the fruits now. I guess I don’t necessarily hold SANFL form in that higher regard though - it’s a completely different game from AFL.

@nathanxromeo I also think ANB is fairly underwhelming for a senior player. He doesn’t need to be a walk up start in every game in favour of seeing what some younger talent can achieve - Draper, Edwards are the only two I think most of us would like to see in the side.

@philschultz11 It’s because the AFL and their tribunal system are designed to protect their liability around head knocks and a potential class action. They aren’t interested in the integrity of the game, they just need to be seen to be “against” actions that result in concussion.

@kateemac9 @abc_sport You haven’t been clear in the slightest on why he’s being booed. And how can you attribute a single reason for a group of people? Each individual may have their own reasons, and then how do you police that?

@thedose__ Yeah seems like we have trouble kicking away once we get a lead. It’s like once we have a lead nicks wants to take the sting out of the game and becomes more conservative, which ironically invites pressure. Fortune favours the brave as was shown in finals last year.
