Vice President Lucia Witbooi has called on French businesses to invest in Namibia, pointing out the country’s growing economic opportunities and commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations with France.

Speaking during a meeting with French businesses and the MEDEF International delegation on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit in Kenya, Witbooi said Namibia and France continue to enjoy longstanding and strong bilateral relations.

Witbooi outlined Namibia’s priority investment areas, which include agriculture, youth empowerment, sports, creative industries, quality education, and healthcare, as well as land, housing, and sanitation.

Appointment of Acting Inspector General of the @ForceNampol (NAMPOL)

The Presidency informs the public that Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, has appointed Major General Anne-Marie Nainda as the Acting Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, with immediate effect.

Major General Nainda will serve in an acting capacity for a period of one (1) year, taking over from Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo.

This appointment is made in accordance with Article 32(4)(c)(bb) which vests the President with the authority to appoint the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force.

Major General Nainda is a seasoned law enforcement professional with extensive experience in policing operations, administration, and strategic coordination. She has served in several senior command roles within the Namibian Police Force and is widely regarded for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service.

Her Excellency the President has expressed full confidence in Major General Nainda’s leadership and her ability to ensure the continued maintenance of law and order.
