@FcLeMili Converting contract income into an asset that keeps earning after the contract ends is the bit most people skip. They spend it like it’s recurring.
If a SaaS at $10k MRR handed me their product tomorrow, week one wouldn’t be code.
Three questions.
What breaks first if traffic triples?
Can someone who isn’t you deploy it?
Which parts were decisions?
Most of a rebuild is finding out which is which.
@nicklaunches Steady with no spikes means it’s not riding a launch or a viral post. That’s the harder version to build and the easier one to grow from.
What’s actually bringing people in day to day?
@niyonx That’s the number then. Grandfathering protected the old cohort but new signups are the ones paying the increase.
Worth knowing whether it’s the price or the trial doing the work. Same $29 converts very differently depending on whether people hit value before the trial ends.
@VelkoMinchev The line you’re looking for is probably a product decision, not a model one. Wrong guesses on task attribution cost you more trust than “I’m not sure” ever will.
Ask when it’s ambiguous, and it stops needing to be right about everything.
@adenshepard Insufficient funds is the good one. Card’s fine, the money just wasn’t there that day.
What I’d do is retry on days 1, 3, 5 and 7 instead of once, and put one attempt right after a typical payday. Most of them recover on their own after that.
@niyonx Grandfathering is why churn didn’t move. The people who could have complained never saw the change.
The real test is whether new signups at $29 stick as well as the $19 cohort. That’s the number I’d watch.
@lukcombinator Three months and a video for one integration is brutal, but it’s the version nobody can take away from you.
Everyone building on unofficial access right now is going to find out why that queue exists.
The spam thing is why nobody tries anything anymore. What works is going where people already complained.
Search Reddit and X for people posting about a breach, or asking if their logins are safe after one. They’ve already told you they have the problem. Reply to that, not to a launch feed.
Five of those beats fifty cold asks, and SEO’s slow at two users.
@willwangdev@cursor_ai Design docs first is the bit most people skip. Reading it yourself doesn’t scale forever but it’s the only thing that works at this stage.
