As part of the session on MDAs’ perspectives on the Tenfold Growth Strategy, @PS_MAAIF, Maj. Gen. David Kasura Kyomukama, presented an overview of export-ready agricultural value chains and Uganda’s positioning as a reliable global supplier.
He highlighted Uganda’s dairy industry as one of the fastest-growing on the African continent, noting that the country now produces over 5.3 billion litres of milk annually.
He emphasized that strengthening agricultural value chains, promoting value addition, and expanding access to international markets are critical to increasing exports and advancing Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Strategy through Economic and Commercial Diplomacy.
Today, I held a security sensitization meeting at St. Kizito, Kawempe Division, Kampala District, aimed at addressing prevailing security concerns, promoting proactive crime prevention strategies, and strengthening public trust in @PoliceUg
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, Kampala Metropolitan Police Heads of Department, Kampala Metropolitan North officers led by the RPC North, as well as local leaders, including LC I Chairpersons and councillors from across Kawempe Division.
During the engagement, I called upon local leaders to work closely with security agencies in the fight against crime, particularly drug abuse, emphasizing that effective policing cannot succeed without active community participation.
I further emphasized that community members play a central role in maintaining peace and security, urging local leaders to share timely and credible information with the Police to facilitate the identification and apprehension of criminals.
I also appealed to parents, community leaders, and residents to work together in guiding, mentoring, and reforming young people, protecting them from being lured into criminal activities and drug abuse.
Furthermore, I encouraged residents to actively participate in the forthcoming Local Council I (LC I) elections by electing responsible and accountable leaders who can effectively work with their communities and security agencies to address local security challenges. I assured the public that adequate joint security deployments would be in place to ensure peaceful, free, and secure elections throughout the electoral process.

Today, I held a meeting with officers from the KMP North Region, where I commended them for their unwavering dedication and professionalism in maintaining security and public safety.
While acknowledging their commendable work, I reminded them that the task ahead requires even greater commitment. I urged all officers to remain focused, work as one team, and continue improving service delivery to the communities they serve.
I further encouraged them to sustain intelligence-led disruptive operations against criminality while ensuring transparency and accountability during the screening of suspects. I emphasized that effective community policing is not a one-time activity but a continuous partnership built on trust, collaboration, and active participation between the police and the public.
I also issued a firm warning against extortion, stressing that corruption has no place in @PoliceUg. Commanders were directed to take swift and decisive action against any personnel found engaging in such unethical practices.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy KMP Commander, Heads of Departments at KMP, the Regional Police Commander (RPC) KMP North, Divisional Police Commanders, and OC Station and OC posts.
