@3AngelsWatchman Just curious, how do you understand Colossians 2:16-17 (ESV) 16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
@3AngelsWatchman@Toneskeee John 5:23 (ESV) 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
John 17:5 (ESV) And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed
@MikeWingerii@haymes_joshua Mike, what do you think about Acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16:2? It seems like the church is beginning to have a new day due to the significance of Jesus’s resurrection which all the Gospels record as happened on Sunday. I really feel like Col 2:16-17 should end the which day debate.
@unityseekerbh@howertonjosh Yes. God is all knowing so He knows all people. So this clearly cant just be a knowledge thing. Judas did not belong to Jesus, obviously he rejected Jesus and betrayed Him. The works we do, do not necessarily show our standing before God. Matt 24:24 is another example.
@unityseekerbh@howertonjosh Matthew 7:22-23 (ESV) 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
@MikeWingerii Always enjoy your content and thankful for your ministry. Here’s my idea. Finish Hebrews! I was so excited when you started it. I have learned a bunch from your Bible studies. Would love for you to finish Hebrews.
@MikeWingerii At this point, I reject the label. I think it’s a false term given by progressives to Christians who are conservative who apply Christianity to politics. Some things we can debate, some God has clearly spoken on. Abortion, LGBTQ, roles of men and women (feminism)
@qbaldwi@AJKocman Our primary reason to go to church should not be because it’s compelling. We go to church because we love God and His people. We should gladly “sacrifice” things for church because God is more important than anything in this life.
@kevinmyoung@DavePellowe Looking through your posts it’s clear what your issues with Charlie were. I will pray that you turn to the true Gospel not a social progressive gospel which affirms sin. You are leading people astray. Matt 7:21-23
@foardeetou@5solas We need others to help keep us walking faithfully towards Jesus. It’s about being held accountable.
Proverbs 11:14 (ESV) Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
@foardeetou@5solas Please get in a solid Biblical church. You need to be surrounded by grounded believers. Just like all of us. But you are believing some fringe things.
@foardeetou@5solas I do not. Otherwise none of us would be in heaven. 1 Jn 1:8-10 Would you respond to my actual message? I was addressing your understanding of Rom 6. Neither of our messages had to do with works based salvation.
@kevinmyoung@DavePellowe Please watch some of his longer form content. He was a faithful believer and regularly shared the Gospel. His beliefs were grounded in His faith. https://t.co/nxCCUPnrE7
@foardeetou@5solas You are a bit off here. We are forgiven through faith in the finished work of Christ. Rom 6 is talking about our spiritual baptism into Christ. We are united with Christ in His death and life. We are now freed from sin because of our union with Christ.
