I have a message for all the little girls and boys out there who dream of growing up to be superheroes: Superheroes walk among us.
They’re teachers, doctors, scientists, vaccine researchers—and you can grow up to be like them too.
I'm seeing a lot of educators and parents online tonight, wondering what we should tell the kids about all of this. The answer, as always, is the truth. (thread)
So often we hear, “I didn’t know what to say” when we encounter hate, racism, & bias. I love that you’ve given your school community language to interrupt & speak up in these moments. 🙌🏾@SUABULLDOGS#OneDegreeShift#SpeakUp

Nobody can stop you! This guy was looking good and feeling good, ready to take on the day. His favorite story “my story, haven’t written it yet because I’m living it.” Can’t wait to read it! @DWEdublin
@katricequitter Thank you for sharing! So many good options for students to consider. When they aren't limited by what to add to the conversation, do you see more engagement and participation?
A1: pre-COVID, I loved using gallery walks w Ss. Sometimes during a wkshp halftime, or before reflection. Ss walk around to view each other's thinking (some put their arms behind their backs like a true gallery) and come back together to discuss notices and next steps #octmchat
