3 sneaky reversals. That work.
95% of grapplers suck at getting off bottom… and it’s not because they’re weak.
It’s because they’re trying to escape the wrong way.
Here’s the first thing I look for before I ever try to get up:
1. Stop fighting with your hands.
The second you start hand fighting, you’re giving your opponent exactly what they want… your wrists.
Now they control you.
The only time I fight hands is if they already have wrist control. Then I clear the wrist first.
2. Don’t even think about standing up until your legs are free.
If they’ve got a leg ride, hook, or any control over your legs, you’re not escaping.
Clear the legs first.
Then get up.
3. Start using your feet like hands.
This is the game changer.
Your feet can trap their legs, block movement, create space, and break control.
Most grapplers never even think to use them this way.
Bottom isn’t about exploding.
It’s about removing the controls that are keeping you there.
Clear the wrists.
Clear the legs.
Use your feet.
Everything gets easier after that.
4) And lastly, master the tri-pod.
It should be your go-to escape.
Requires the least amount of athleticism or explosiveness.
And it’s the most proven way to be able to consistently get out from bottom
🚨Update: Mexico’s former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stands accused of crimes against humanity in a complaint filed by a rival political party.
The complaint blames him as the root cause of the partnership between Mexico’s government and cartels, which led to more than 200,000 deaths and 150,000 forced disappearances, as well as several other crimes under his watch.
The goal isn’t to force a takedown.
The goal is to create a reaction.
- Control
- Pressure
- Finish
That’s how one attack can easily turn into 6 different finishes.
Stop chasing moves.
Start creating reactions.
Then simply take what the opponent gives you
