🚨🟧 #bitmap Community 🟧🚨 There's a growing disquiet among artists and builders in the Bitmap Metaverse. The BRC420 protocol, repeatedly promised to be open-source and freely available, remains frustratingly closed. This delay is crippling the development of the BRC420 marketplace https://t.co/K8fMUrShcO and creating a terrible first experience for new users. The marketplace itself is riddled with problems: a confusing UI that makes navigation difficult, an unavailable and undocumented API that hinders creator innovation, and frequent service disruptions that chase away potential buyers and stall creators' sales. On top of that, there's no clear way for creators to even input their project details, making it impossible to showcase their work effectively. To make matters worse, the person responsible for overseeing the project seems more interested in something else (Merlin), leaving the BRC420 community feeling abandoned. This lack of dedicated leadership goes against everything successful open-source projects stand for. The combined effect of these issues is a significant roadblock for artists and builders in the Bitmap Metaverse. The marketplace is overflowing with unused items and creates a poor first impression for newcomers. While @BitmapTech has said the BRC420 protocol will be open-source, and this promise has been made in various places, there have been no further announcements or responses to questions about the timeline. This silence is fueling frustration within the community. Moving forward, we urge BitmapTech to address these concerns. Opening the BRC420 protocol as promised would empower the community and accelerate development. The BRC420 marketplace also desperately needs an overhaul. A user-friendly interface, a publicly available and documented API, resolving service disruptions, and allowing creators to input project details are all crucial steps.
