@traskjd @ibdxqueenstown @washingtonpost They're the paper for a place that's currently polling 92% democrat. I'm not clear why everyone is suddenly surprised that media companies market to their target customers. This skit is nearly 40 years old and is still basically accurate https://t.co/kbXD3YXSwV
I know everyone is complaining about the wellington CBD. But out here in Island Bay we seem to have doubled the number of cafes and been steadily improving if anything. (Also people are staying home enough that it's now worth asking if people live nearby and just meeting here)
I went on one of those(we were doing some work for the Vanuatu government at the time). I am apparently now officially a "C-list" business leader. I wonder if I can get a certificate.
@David_Cormack Pretty much everything by Ingmar Bergman. I finished watching my way through the IMDB top 250 during covid and came to hate him more and more each time one of his films came up on the list.
@traskjd Every society should focus on improving education, healthcare, food, and economic opportunity. Focus on improving those in parallel. Most interventions have diminishing returns.
The most kiwi thing in the world - almost certainly secure a spot in the semi-finals and the article everyone wants to read is the thing you did wrong.
@traskjd To me all the best open-source projects meet the following criteria: solves a problem where choices about whether something is better are relatively objective(i.e. databases) and the community that uses the tool is orders of magnitudes bigger than the minimum needed fund it.
The start of a new era! Data for the NZSL Online Dictionary is now stored in NZSL Signbank. The original Signbank tool, developed for Auslan, now has many spinoffs - see https://t.co/6JNmDoE42O . The NZSL Signbank was adapted for us by @ackama - thank you!
@traskjd Consolidated brands are easier to manage and the early days of tech were won by getting product to market as fast as possible with a label that engendered some level of trust. Nowadays in markets with a lot more competent competitors you need enough brands to match your segments.
Great press takeup of our Australian growth announcement! Thanks to everyone who picked it up and we look forward to getting to work with new colleagues
I want a play by play of what @RobertIger does over the next 4 weeks far more than I want all these twitter discussions. There's so much nuance tied up in making Disney work.
@juhasaarinen@JoshForde It's a plant(native to NZ and AU funnily enough). We were really looking for something that we could tie the digital ecosystem idea to that was a relatively open space for us to play brand wise(in comparison to Rabid bringing way too much flavour to the brand).
