Childhood poverty costs America $800B-$1T each year. Cutting that poverty in half would cost only $90B-$100B.

Single-payer healthcare could save America $1 trillion each year while improving outcomes. Almost 30 million more Americans would have healthcare.

Increasing the federal minimum wage to $20 by 2030 would reduce federal spending by over $100B and increase revenue by $70B. Price increases and job losses would be negligible, and nearly 40 million workers would get raises with an average increase of $8,000.

Universal Pre-K, free college, job training, and apprenticeships would more than pay for themselves, giving better opportunities to millions.

There is money just sitting on the table. Grabbing it would dramatically improve lives. But we don’t take it. All because we've been conditioned to believe that helping others hurts us.

When the problems cost more than the solutions, making that investment should be a no-brainer.

For the cost of the war in Iran, we could have extended healthcare subsidies for several years, ensuring millions didn’t lose coverage.

Instead of increasing the military budget from over $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion per year, we could ensure every American has comprehensive primary care, including dental, vision, and hearing, and still have more than $100 billion left to spend.

We could ensure every American has complete universal healthcare coverage and not only improve outcomes, but save the country anywhere from hundreds of billions to one trillion dollars every single year.

But we don’t do any of it.

Instead, we spend far more to get much less, all because we’ve been taught that taxation is theft, and any money spent helping someone else is an affront to capitalism. Those are lies.

The reality is that helping others costs far less than letting the problems continue. Poverty is expensive. A low minimum wage is expensive. Lack of healthcare is expensive. Not just for the individuals dealing with those problems, but for the nation as a whole.

Leaving others to suffer while giving tax breaks to the richest people in the world, hoping some of their crumbs will trickle down to you, is why we have the problems we do today.

America needs to smarten up.

America has been seeing a large number of layoffs this year, just shy of 1.2 million in total. The job market is cold, new jobs are hard to find, and unemployment is rising.

The claims about "massive investment' in the US from other countries? It doesn't exist. And the types of manufacturing those investments would bring to America are largely automation.

That's because the higher cost of living in the US means we can't compete against low-cost labor from other nations. That is why America has to focus on innovation and investment in high-tech, cutting-edge technology—something the previous administration was doing.

But the current administration axed a lot of that investment because of the ridiculous culture war on "wokeness," which has included attacks against green energy. Green energy is a significant export opportunity that the US gave up on, including all of the jobs that come with it.

What we're left with is an AI bubble that is fueling America's stock markets and spending by the wealthy. When that bubble bursts, the already problematic US economy will go down with it.

This is why progress shouldn't be avoided and why trying to grow America's fossil fuel industry is a terrible path that only enriches a select few while ruining the economy for everyone else.

We need a government that understands the importance of investing in its workforce, including job training programs to help people get those new high-tech jobs, and making products the world desires, not one that believes in isolating itself from the world and trying to recreate the 1950s.

Now you see it. But what are you learning from it?

Your problems aren't caused by other working- and middle-class Americans. The culture war was manufactured to distract you from the billionaires and corporations buying political influence to enact policies that benefit the select few at the expense of everyone else.

The only way to change it is to end the division, stop the hatred, and work together to fix the system so that it works for everyone.

-blowing up boats with people on them whenever he feels like it, with no due process or even proof that they are criminals
-sending the military into city streets even as courts rule it illegal
-taking bribes from foreign countries to give them favorable deals
-suing every media outlet that says something he doesn’t like
-using secret police to grab people off the street, from courthouses, and out of their homes, including US citizens
-rolling out the red carpet to host tyrants while berating our allies
-saying that people using their right to protest should be arrested under racketeering charges
-destroying America’s economy with unnecessary trade wars
-firing people who tell the truth about the economy
-defying court orders and ignoring the Constitution
-continuing to lie about an election he lost, tried to steal, and then caused an insurrection to try to overturn

And the majority of America is either acting like this is normal, or throwing their hands up and saying, “What can you do?”

This is a fundamental test of our nation’s founding principles, and we are failing.
