🚨🚨🚨🚨 UK GOVERNMENT, EU, AND POSTCODE LOTTERY MONEY FLOWS INTO A CHARITY WITH THREE CO-CEOs AND A “DECOLONISATION UNIT”

Welcome to ActionAid UK.

In 2025, it received approximately £7.8 MILLION from government and EU-linked sources:

• £2.850m in FCDO-linked grants and contracts
• £4.609m through the Start Fund, classified in its accounts under governments and public authorities
• £388,000 from the European Commission

People’s Postcode Lottery provided another £3 million.

ActionAid raised £47.6 million in total and spent £10.564 million employing 189 people:

• 69 in fundraising
• 66 in charitable activities
• 54 in support roles

Yes, more employees were classified under fundraising than charitable activities.

Eighteen employees received more than £60,000. Three received between £100,001 and £110,000.

Its three interim co-CEOs received £342,312 in combined gross remuneration, plus £19,411 in pensions.

Total key-management costs reached £544,414 across seven people who occupied leadership positions during the year.

Another £32,874 was paid to three employees in unexplained ex-gratia payments relating to “employment or remuneration matters.”

Then we arrive at the ideology.

ActionAid’s overarching strategic objective is:

“Decolonise our systems and practices.”

This is intended to influence:

• Grant allocation
• Fundraising
• Procurement
• Child sponsorship
• Staff training
• Internal culture
• Political advocacy
• Public communications
• “Anti-racist storytelling”

ActionAid previously disclosed mandatory decolonisation training for all staff, an Anti-Racist Storytelling Manager, an educator and facilitator, an internal small-projects fund, and plans for a dedicated hub, director and steering group.

In 2025, Postcode Lottery funding helped establish a new decolonisation unit.

That unit developed TRANSFORM, a funding mechanism intended to provide flexible, long-term core funding to feminist movements and women’s-rights organisations.

It also helped map more than 300 organisations across 65 countries.

ActionAid is now redesigning its £9.1 million child-sponsorship operation according to “anti-racist and decolonial principles.”

Its leadership has criticised the traditional arrangement in which comparatively wealthy, frequently white donors select photographs of black or brown children as paternalistic and racialised.

The replacement fundraising model includes “Sisterhood,” designed to move donors from sympathy towards ideological “solidarity.

Three co-CEOs. £10.6 million in employment costs. Millions from government and lottery sources. An ideology intended to reshape the entire organisation.
