Loving Jesus, loving the gospel, loving the church all while living in Brugge Belgium

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

@PCEmrgManAgency Why are the tornado sirens going off in NE Des Moines/Delaware township?

"Money makes the same promises God does: promises to provide, promises of protection from harm and security to sleep easy, promises of pleasure forevermore. But God offers them as gifts, not as scarce commodities to be earned and accumulated." - @iamjonguerra

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

“Trust and humility go together. Where there is trust, it is easier to act in humility. And humility will generally show itself in trust. Trust is the soil in which humility grows best.” - Andy Johnson in Missions: How the Local Church Goes Global

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

He was willing to have his Son made man and die, rather than man should perish, who had delighted to ruin himself. - Stephen Charnock

[Matt Smethurst @MattSmethurst]

“There is a reason the Reformation lit up Europe.”

— Mark Dever 🔥

I watch this every year. Never gets old.

Cheer up! You're a worse sinner than you ever dared imagine.

Cheer up! You're more loved than you ever dared hope.

@GlosLiveOnline Any update? The helicopter is gone.

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

@pedroadrian @GetflixAU Same here. @GetflixAU Disney+ is not working.

[Drew @drewdyck]

Listen, I get why churches throw candies from helicopters or put the youth pastor in a bunny suit on Easter. When you're working with pedestrian material like, you know, the Son of God rising FROM THE DEAD in a cosmic triumph over sin and death, you gotta spice it up a little.

The kind of Messiah Jesus was had implications for anyone who wanted to be his follower. An incorrect understanding of Jesus's messiahship leads to an incorrect understanding of discipleship. - @CSBible Ross McLaren on Mark 8:34

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

@GetflixAU Pluto has not worked for a while. Is there anyway around this?

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

@michaelfaes @daihankey Are you still looking for a designer?

[Brennan Penner @brennanpenner]

@michaelfaes @daihankey I just saw this! Sorry!

One of my favorite times in corporate worship is when we sing a song in a style I don’t prefer:
1 Reminds me the gospel is bigger than me & my preferences
2 Allows me to count others as more significant than myself
3 Reminds my that the gospel is not trapped in any era
