The UK Home Office has just given itself the power to ban more groups under a new law: the National Security (State Threats) Act.

Where before they could ban groups deemed 'terrorist,' now they can do the same to groups engaged in "foreign power threat activity."

This is the same architecture of terror laws, honed mainly on Muslims, now expanded to new categories.

Assisting a foreign power, or even accepting a "material benefit," including just information, from a 'designated body,' could land you in prison, with no defence available.

On the one hand, the state is pressuring social media platforms to suppress independent and alternative media in favour of legacy outlets. On the other, it's criminalising the sourcing of information from the "wrong" kind of source.

This is informational warfare, with the threat of imprisonment.
