@rtg0nzalez I realize this is *years* late, but my daughter and I just found https://t.co/lBXB93vzud and it is by far the best explanation I have ever seen of this. It is actually sticking in my brain now after many failed attempts over the years. Thank you!
So apparently if you make a Playstation kids' account, you can never change the online ID until they're 18 even though regular players can do that whenever they want. Is that accurate @AskPlayStation? Seems nuts.
@kvlly ๐ฏ Had a similar thought while job hunting recently. I feel like every job change before this last one increased my salary and decreased my contribution to society. Trying to move back in the right direction, but itโs tough to make that trade sometimes and not everyone can.
@engineering_bae For me what helps is:
- focusing on operations that change relative to how big the input is
- focusing on loops and how deeply they nest or traversals and how many things they touch
- the rest is pretty much noise and ignorable
HTH. Lots of good stuff in this thread.
Nothing like that feeling of putting in a bunch of time and effort to optimize a piece of code and then discover that it somehow runs waaaaaaaaaaaay more slowly than the original.
Granted if I assume the first digit is always 1 I can get my 2 pixels back, but then the clock can only be accurate until May 17, 2033 (i.e. 20000000000 in epoch seconds).
This is probably one of those times the logical engineer in me needs to overtake the engineering purist.
In my ongoing quest to construct or program a hardware clock to display epoch seconds, I thought https://t.co/tGQoQi93k3 might've been the answer, but the horizontal pixel dimension is too short by 2 pixels. ๐ญ
Hey @codingcoach_io , I just signed up as a mentor and would love to talk Python/Java/C++, backends & AWS or anything else that interests people at any level.
Thanks for providing a place I can hopefully do that and learn some new stuff myself too! ๐
