The Somali ambassador to the UN who was appointed president of the UN Security Council – linked to healthcare fraud in the US

The US Deputy Secretary of Health officially confirms that Abukar Osman, the Somali ambassador to the UN who this week became president of the UN Security Council for the coming year, is connected to Progressive Health care Services – against which the US Department of Health imposed sanctions following a conviction for healthcare fraud.

The case has exposed billions (of American taxpayer dollars) in fraud involving Somali Americans in Minnesota in the fields of healthcare and education.

Somalia – which is in a strong alliance with Turkey – has attacked Israel in the past week following Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.

Sources in Somaliland report that the Somali ambassador to the UN requested asylum in the US in 1986 on the basis of the genocide being committed against the Isaaq clan in Somaliland – a genocide he denied as Somalia’s ambassador to the UN in December 2025.
