The Big 12/Brett Yormark can't let threat of lawsuits scare them from taking action against Texas Tech.
You have to try something or risk alienating 15 of your 16 schools.
I know Texas Tech is in a spot no school wants to be in but I'm genuinely surprised at how poorly they have handled this. With the money they have this might be the worst PR campaign we have seen
@themightygwinn@TreyWallace Including the winningest coach in CFB history…who by the way happened to be the most popular and revered figure in the entire state.
This dude is an absolute clown. This situation and what happened at PSU couldn’t be more different.
Also…if you want to use this comparison, how come you’re not referencing that PSU fired every person associated with the scandal, including its legendary head coach?
Cody Campbell calls out those threatening to boycott playing Texas Tech because of integrity
He said teams have players with DUIs, woman abusers
“I mean, nobody boycotted to play Penn State a few years ago when that horrible situation happened there” https://t.co/5gNpMI6kwf
Hear me out…..
LSU should sign Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson & Ja’Marr Chase on their NFL bye week, let them play.
NCAA declares it illegal, but just find a Louisiana judge to file an injunction.
Rules are just pesky suggestions now
My friend and attorney Chad Hatmaker, who has experience in eligibility cases, summed up Sorsby ruling well. “This might be the case that actually generates real reform. That’s absolutely ridiculous. If you have an illness as an employee, you don’t get to break the rules because of it. An alcoholic can’t come to work drunk without getting fired.”
As disastrous a ruling as there has ever been in modern sports. The pathway is now clear: gamble as much as you like, including on your own team and hope you are--or get--good enough that you can lawyer up down the line. A much bigger disaster than anything with NIL or portal.
@LandonTengwall Imagine if a rookie backup QB in the NFL bet on his own team, and then went to another team and became a starter. If found out, he would be banned from the league forever. How is this different?
No consequences and no rules is quickly ruining a great sport.
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.
@Nate_Tice For sure. He happened to directly replace one of the 3 greatest QB’s of all time, and I think that suppresses people’s opinion of him. Hard to be seen as one of the greatest ever when you’re not even the greatest ever for your franchise.
