What the murder of Ann Widdecombe has shown is that far too many people have abandoned the noble British tradition of cherishing our firebrands, one-offs, eccentrics and total mould-breakers. And we all suffer in a society where we don't tolerate views different from our own.
@CountMoriarty People are increasingly vocal & active against it, especially the young generation of students & graduates.
I predict it'll be one of those things that retreats in the face of a backlash, gets developed behind the scenes, then comes back in a few years & becomes irreplaceable
@CountMoriarty These areas are few at the moment, but will increase given time.
The solution above would have to apply even handedly to companies, governments and individuals worldwide, but this is unenforceable.
Rogue countries, criminal networks etc. would be impossible to police.
@CountMoriarty Agreed, but it's a double edged sword.
I'd like strict limitations on categories in which it can be used, but this only works if it's global and rigourously enforced.
Failing that, those who don't subscribe will eventually get left behind in the areas that it works well.
Not sure how much I trust Google's Health app (formerly Fitbit) reporting on sleep quality.
I had 'an excellent night's rest ', it says, so why the hell do I feel like shit today?!
I'm not totally convinced this is the best way forward for the country, or the Labour party.
A lot of the furore had died down in recent weeks, allowing time for reflection, planning & development of better ideas.
This has all the hallmarks of a classic episode of The Thick Of It

And so it begins... 5 glorious weeks of muting as much soccer-related content as possible.
It's going to be beautifully pure, clean, quiet and serene on my social media timelines for over a month!
Bliss ☺️
@_Tg96_ There's never a right and wrong when it comes to taste, aye. It's always subjective.
I don't like the name, but other people do and that's cool.
It's interesting to wonder if they might have been more successful with a different name - we'll never know!
I'm quite convinced that Eyehategod is one of the absolute worst band names ever.
Sorry, just had to get that out of my brain before I went to sleep and forgot all about it.
@2hrTV Every four years I take great delight in being able to go for an uninterrupted walk around normally busy streets, whenever an England match is on.
If it's a nice time of day and good weather, it's a lovely experience.
First time I've had one of these worth sharing.
Goes to show how much luck is involved sometimes, as I played with as little confidence as I always do.
