It's crazy to think back on the 2022 MLB Draft now.
The O's had the first pick and everybody thought they were taking Druw Jones (Andruw's son). I was sitting in front of the draft stage in LA hosting @MLBNetworkRadio's coverage with @JimBowdenGM and @JimDuquetteGM .
When Commish Manfred said "Jackson Holliday" it was a wow moment. People were stunned. Well-kept secret that very few saw coming. Not that he wasn't a star but he just wasn't supposed to go to BAL 1-1.
Fast forward two years and he's a career .320 hitter in the minors who just got called up to the big leagues at 20. Everything Elias touches turns to gold.
The Holy Spirit is not given to us in order to introduce new revelations, but to impress the written word on our hearts; so that here the word must never be separated from the Spirit.

Breaking news: creation is being held together by an all-powerful Creator who is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, faithful, and abounding in steadfastlove—so much so that he came in person to die for us, and comes in person to live with us. Happy Lord’s Day!
The essence of the Christian religion consists in this, that the creation of the Father, ruined by sin, is restored in the death of the Son of God, and re-created by the grace of the Holy Spirit into a kingdom of God.
The Maker of the stars and sea
Become a Child on earth for me?
And is it true? For if it is …
No carolling in frosty air,
Nor all the steeple-shaking bells
Can with this single Truth compare:
That God was man in Palestine
And lives today in Bread and Wine.

@Emily__Petersen@hopekoumentakos Good question. I don’t have a resource. Just saying some are impacted spiritually by Covid more than others. I’m wrestling with the spiritual toll that Covid has taken on many people. Just weighs heavy on me.
@brewmlcrew @hopekoumentakos@Emily__Petersen Sorry! I’m not used to Twitter convos. I meant my reply for everyone. It’s a genuine question I’ve been personally wrestling with.
@jwmarianna Saying goodbye to foster kids never gets easier. The fact that it’s hard means you’re doing it right. We always send our foster kids away with a children’s bible with pictures in it of us all together.
Make fun of millennials attaching themselves to liturgical communities all you want, but they've watched a Boomer-evangelicalism w/fuzzy theological boundaries & no attached history implode. They've watched their parents grow older w/no deep friendships. Its not attractive.
