@sjakhaaheim They look nothing like historical Iron age Scandinavians tho and it is truly sad to see when we have found so much from graves in the last years
Here is a more historical correct outfit which would have cost them nothing to get
@jantberg They do look nothing like the Iron age Scandinavians tho at all and when they look like a bunch of fantasy barbarians or medieval sons of Anarchy I honestly can understand a bit of the criticism.
Ps this outfit is from the Hedeby grave
@teutonicv1 It's almost like the Nordic Bronze age was the Ethnogenesis of the Nordic and later Germanic peoples and since we are the oldest part we have a phenotype for every region🤔
@staddann Some of the criticism comes from the fact that a lot of Norwegians know exactly how Iron age Scandinavians dressed thanks to our educational system and museums.
The picture looks nothing akin to them and more like a dark fantasy, here is what the Vikings actually looked like
@HandyGingerGal Some of the criticism received comes from the fact that most of us are well aware of how our Iron age ancestors dressed,
Which is sadly nothing akin to that picture. Based upon archeological sources from graves, this reenactors garment is more akin to iron age Scandinavians
@Artemisfornow They look absolutely nothing like historical iron age Scandinavians tho, which is kinda hilarious
In comparison this is more akin to how they looked based upon archeological sources of the Iron age Scandinavians graves we have found
@RdHdSteppeson@achillghost I point out the practices survived since they needed to be banned up until the 18th century C.E when Christianity's hold on the culture finally started to die
You call me a larper, instead of engaging with the argument
@EkelLenny Yes we were so ass for taking revenge on Charlemagne cause he picked his cousins after failing in Spain, kinslayers and oathbreakers deserve nothing but the worst
