"Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.“ -Jonah 2:8
Sometimes our darkest moments lead to the greatest clarity. Jonah found this divine grace in the belly of a fish. That same grace can meet us, and enlighten us, in our pain.
One of the ways fear manifests itself is through defensiveness. When you find yourself getting defensive, pause and ask, “What am I really afraid of?” Real confidence produces non-defensiveness.
This has absolutely been my experience. A big reason why the Left and the Right are so toxic is they subtly train us to justify our cruelty. Cruelty is not a fruit of the Spirit, but kindness is.
One thing I’ve learned from both liberals & conservatives is that you can be passionate, charismatic, even smart... and still be mean.

"The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul
the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple
the precepts of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart
the commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes" -Ps. 19:7-8

@EricTorrence83 Ask me in three years, ha. I would have been nervous about any pick they made, but I think Bagley fills a big need for us. He needs to develop a 3pt shot, but his athleticism is definitely exciting.
@ashleyinsac @LanceHahn Hey Ashley! Bridgeway doesn't typically take stances on anything other than core Christian theology. But, Pastor Lance and I will be discussing this awful situation tomorrow on the Engaging Culture podcast. We'll be live on FB at 11, and the podcast will be available Wed.
1. So I’m just going to start a thread of all the faith groups/faith leaders condemning either the Trump admin’s zero tolerance policy that separates families (and/or asylum change), Sessions’ argument that the Bible supports its enforcement, or both.
Here are a few.
