Even after finishing release I’m still so curious about the author’s reasoning with including such different plot lines/writing styles within a short novel. It never really meshed well for me. #sdsuya
I was so confused about the portions of italicized text/story in this novel. I feel like I might have caught on kind of late to the fact that the speaker is the girl who got murdered. It makes me wonder what the author’s intention was including it so early on. #sdsuya
I thought my heart was gonna get ripped out while watching this movie but luckily the ending was happier than I expected. I’m glad Alike chose furthering her education. #teenfilmsdsu
Inan is one of the more problematic characters I've encountered in YA in such a long time. It makes me a little worried for the younger audiences reading the book and romanticizing him. #SDSUya
I finished reading the book in my break room before work and that was a mistake. I had to sit there holding back tears so my coworkers wouldn’t think I was crazy. The scene between Darius and his dad got to me.😭 #sdsuya
I thought it was interesting how Cady’s dad stuck up for her more than her mom. Or at least felt more sympathetic for what she was going through. #teenfilmsdsu
I think it’s because teens aren’t simply just these various stereotypes they portray in the movie. People are more complex than that. Even though ironically that’s what the characters in the movie try to fight against. (2/2) #teenfilmsdsu
