@LinksGolfCup West Lancs. The most brutal course I have ever played in the 45mph winds, rain and hailstone two weeks ago. To put in perspective I have played Carnoustie championship course several times off the back tees.
@NCG_com If they have a vanity handicap that is far lower than what they actually play to then that’s what they will claim. Our last two comps were won by guys off less then 5 and no that was not divisional. Then again we administer WHS like you are supposed to.
@smith1186157@GolfMonthly Yes but in doing so you are not “setting down the putter to indicate your line” It’s exactly the same rule that stops you putting a club down on the ground to align
Yourself up before you play a shot.
@smith1186157@GolfMonthly That’s not the question. Player has already put his ball back down but has then placed a marker down between his ball and the hole to determine his start line. Under Rule 10.2b (3) a player cannot set an object down to help with aiming and it is a two shot penalty even if removed
@LidlGB@njse1 After that response you won’t see me shopping in Lidl any more. Absolutely insulting to the customer. You should be pro-active and reporting to the Police yourselves.
@LouStagner Why does the average amateur wear a hat? Just to give free advertising to someone? I get mine for free and still only use them in extreme sunshine non of which is in a clubhouse
@LouStagner@Top100Rick I can assure you Lou that I have played many Top 100 courses and the tee times are spaced at 10 minute intervals that includes all of The Open rota courses
@adplacksports Why do you have to defend par? The average handicap in 1985 was 17. The average handicap in 2025 was 17. So despite all the equipment and balls nothing has changed. There is nothing to defend. They are professionals for a reason!
@Mteasel67@fesshole Absolutely correct. I met a guy on holiday who sold his paper company for multi-millions. Guess how he made the money? One-use disposable restaurant menus during the Covid crisis.
