#OnThisDay 1798 Fr John Murphy led 4000 poorly armed United Irishmen to victory against a smaller contingent of North Cork Milita at the Battle of Oulart Hill. The rebels killed 105 but spared Col. Foote & 4 others.

The report in today's Sunday Business Post confirms my prediction from a few months ago. 🤯
The Irish Govt. buried ~€4billion of spending within the technical docs of the most recent budget under a "Contingency Reserve Fund". 48% of this budget is earmarked for Immigration.
I warned that this money was going to be used to bail out commercial real estate and purchase asylum centres.
TODAY, the SBP is reporting that the Govt. plans to buy several hotels that are currently used as asylum centres at ENORMOUS valuations.
For instance, it is reported that City West would cost €100m. This is simply extraordinary when you look at the timeline of events:
2014 Nama sold CityWest to Tetrarch and US Private Equity Giant (aka Vulture Fund) PIMCO for €30m.
2021 it was used as a covid centre receiving €16m from the State.
2021 to 2024 the State has paid €148 million to the same owner for asylum services.
Similar deals are being lined up with the Tifco Hotel Group which is owned by another US Private Equity Giant - Apollo Global Management.
The Irish Taxpayer is the biggest chump on Wall Street ....and has been for ten years.

How does a closed-down café in Sallynoggin manage to make €50,000,000 a year from refugees centres?
Irish Govt contracts are brewing........🧵
"The better you look, the more you see." 🚲
For the last week, I’ve been scouring the internet, determined to find out who was behind the €336k bike shed.
But all along, the answer was hiding in plain sight...🧵
JUST 10 companies were paid €88m in the first three months of this year to accommodate asylum seekers and refugees. - Colm McGuirk
And 101 private accommodation providers were paid more than €1m in lucrative State contracts during the same period, new figures confirm.

This is the new owner of the old paint factory in Coolock. 🚨
Meet Peter McGarry,
He’s from Kildare,
but lives in Switzerland for tax reasons. 🤓🇨🇭
He likes to virtue-signal online about his electric Land Rover and his “Earth Foundation”.
But he doesn’t mention his actual business of housing asylum seekers
for maximum profit
To be fair to Peter though he doesn’t seem like the brains behind the operation.
My suspicion is he the junior partner…. 🧵
The Government is finally investigating fraud of State funds by IPAS accommodation providers across the country after stonewalling on the issue for months.

What's happened to the European Project and the lens that we are looking down?
Scathing contribution from the Leas Ceann Comhairle leaves the Public Expenditure Minister Pascal Donoghue squirming.
We're waiting for our big sisters and brothers in Europe to tell us what to do, oh yes we are. And you're going to vote for Von der Leyen -@catherinegalway
