STREAMERS NEEDED! I'm in need of of some more Twitch streamers to help me with testing & improving my Twitch-integrated on-screen RPG.
If you like games like Diablo, PoE, and D&D, this is like all of that in one, but easier. It's free, no install needed.

Good evening all. In anticipation of the release of volume 1 of a gazetteer of #Estagund in the #ForgottenRealms we're making volume 3 of our #Luiren gazetteer now #PWYW giving you chance to sample our work at the @dms_guild -- https://t.co/GqsbouhhPO
@newbiedm I find w/ D&D, people often forget the presumptive integration of setting into the ruleset, and conflate setting material *for* mechanical ruleset, when they are not, which is often where this kind of decision stems from.
Toril != Krynn != Athas; creatures are different depending
@newbiedm Social combat doesn't exist, it's simple opposed checks, gm fiat, or ad hoc design per adventure. The idea of engaging your enemy in a debate on the floor of a Senate to secure the alliance is cool, and yet has zero robust support.
It's not a pillar, it's a crimped tentpole
@newbiedm Designing to handle the action economy in cool & fun ways for a table w/ system mastery requires reactions, minor actions, bloodied responses, multi-foe encounters, interactive environment and battlefield elements, and impactful extra-combat objectives unreliant on facepunching
@newbiedm But even there I could run into opinions that monsters had a six-round shelf life, were not really expected to engage with PCs outside of combat, and a variety of powers was too complicated.
Don't even get me started on the conversation about giving NPCs classes/levels
@newbiedm Look, I am biased, but the things we made in the KP monster books for 5e were usually pretty solid.
We definitely colored outside the lines more than not, though
My novel, The First Folio, is currently just 99p for the ebook on Amazon.
Renaissance action fantasy, demons, rogues, found family, unreliable narrator, reluctant hero... And a werewolf. It's got it all.

I mean, it's currently free, so fill your boots!
It's short read, opening up Faust's word of an occult renaissance Heidelberg.
