Working for free during practicum instinctively makes you feel grateful for finely getting paid when you graduate.
Even when it’s not enough.
So many beginning therapists are just getting by and told they should be grateful for the work.
That’s not ok.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to remind myself: No one has any idea what the hell they’re doing.
Some people are just better at putting on a brave face and marching forward into the unknown.
Try this: Write a letter to your future self. Note how you’re feeling right now, where you’re at in life, and your goals for the next few months. Seal it and set a reminder to open it in six months to reflect back on what’s changed.
