@coldplay Hi Coldplay. I’m sure you’re busy etc but we’re coming to see you tonight and our first dance nine years ago was Green Eyes, so hoping you might consider playing it tonight. 👍🏻
An afternoon of big smiles, chatter and believing that they are now 'teachers'.
All trainees celebrated with each other, wrote themselves a Dear me letter and chatted to TELA's new cohort who will be starting their journey in August.

@AndyCart2531 ‘This is the very painting of your fear’. I’ve thought about your tweet and I actually think fear is a key motivator for much of the action. A tricky one and requires some quite sophisticated thinking from students.
Looking at national figures and I think we need to better understand our single biggest issue is attendance. Nothing else looks higher leverage for the time being.
Keep thinking about when we all laughed at Theresa May for only coming up with running through fields when asked about what she'd done wrong.
Maybe this is all.. our fault?
Vacancies - Exciting times - opportunity to join our amazing languages department. We are looking for an outstanding second in department - come and join our wonderful team https://t.co/r34pupGimt
The bit they cried at was the first part. About holding your child up for meritocratic judgement and being asked to provide the evidence they had failed.
During our talk I saw three people crying. I know this isn't very conferency but I think it's important to flag this up. This is what deficit framing does to people. We are entitled to better.
Don’t know if any other @uniofleicester alumni found the @researchEDLeics handle #rEDLeicester disconcerting. A stark reminder that life has changed dramatically from the times when #RedLeicester meant a student night of cheesy music at the Union.
After a Twitter haitus during maternity leave, I am delighted that my glorious return was @researchEDLeics. It’s been incredibly sharpening to hear again from those who are forever fighting the good fight. Provocative in all the right ways. A cracker of a day. #rEDLeicester
Listening to @teacherhead talk about what it means to be evidence informed. He is getting us to think about research in more nuanced ways--does it really say what we think it says? Instead try evidence- informed wisdom. Learn about learners--do they understand? #rEDLeicester
Research tells us what HAS happened, not what COULD happen. Does that mean that perhaps what HAS happened wasn’t working? Or that it was a bad idea in the first place? #researchEDLeicester
