It’s not just that we’re against the president’s war. We’re sick of him playing in our faces while people are struggling to fill their gas tanks, and he’s obsessing over that damn ballroom.
The Trump administration is still gaslighting us about oil and gas prices.
Kevin Hassett says that when a deal is finalized, within “a month and two months, we expect everyone to have all the oil they need in every refinery on Earth.”
That’s not what experts are saying.
📌 Analysts warn prices could stay elevated well into 2027. One report said normalization could take anywhere from six months to two years because of supply chain disruption, shipping risk, and infrastructure damage.

In 1981, Crothers received an NAACP Image Award for working to break down racial barriers in Hollywood. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that same year. In 1987, he was posthumously inducted into the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, a year after his death from lung cancer. /end
Crothers’ animated facial expressions were a masterfully cultivated tool of his trade, born out of his decades as a live vaudeville and jazz entertainer and a byproduct of his scat singing skill. He also possessed a raspy voice that made him a prolific voiceover artist for classic cartoons. /9
In 1975, Crothers starred in Ralph Bakshi’s highly controversial animated/live-action film Coonskin. Through his performance and the opening track “Walk On, Brother,” Crothers used satire to deliver a fierce critique of anti-Black racism, minstrel tropes and systemic oppression. /8
Crothers became a TV favorite playing Louie the Garbage Man on Chico and the Man. In One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), he played Turkle, the night watchman who facilitates the famous late-night party scene. His most famous dramatic performance was as Dick Hallorann in The Shining (1980). /7
In late 1955, under the pseudonymous group name “The Ramparts,” Crothers recorded “The Death of Emmett Till.” Written by Black activist and artist Mrs. A.C. Bilbrew, the song was a politically charged musical protest against the brutal lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till earlier that year. /6
By the early 1940s, Crothers’ reputation as a top-tier jazz showman grew, landing him gigs at such legendary venues as the Apollo Theater in Harlem. In 1948, he became the first Black performer to be featured on Los Angeles television, as part of a variety program called Dixie Showboat. /5
The radio gig was a massive success, the name stuck, and a legendary entertainment persona was born. For eight years, Crothers performed five days a week on the radio, building a massive Midwestern fan base. He formed his own jazz combo, and they toured extensively throughout the Midwest. /4
The defining moment of his early career was an audition for a 15-minute radio spot on station WFMK in Dayton, Ohio, in 1932. The station director loved his performance but insisted that “Benjamin Crothers” was too plain. Crothers suggested “Scat Man” due to his ability to perform scat singing. /3
Crothers was a self-taught musical genius who rose rapidly through the dangerous underground entertainment circuits of the Prohibition era. He taught himself how to play the drums, guitar and ukulele by ear and played for tips in speakeasies frequented by Chicago mobsters and bootleggers. /2

Today in history, 1856: South Carolina Representative Preston Brooks brutally beats Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner with a walking cane on the floor of the U.S. Senate chamber. This violent assault symbolized the breakdown of civil discourse in the buildup to the Civil War. /1

I don't know about y'all, but I listen to scientists, not Trump. The climate change threat is real, and it's causing serious health and environmental impacts. We need to work together to get government and industry to do more about it.
