i had a feeling they wouldn’t end up together, which i’m sad about, but i’m glad they’re finally becoming their own people. as much as i love them, i did not love their codependency. maybe they get together in the future! #bsueng230
both danny and chin-kee being jin and the monkey in disguise was not what i expected at all! but it ties in as well with the fact that their storyline was written as a sitcom, so it was kind of like them playing characters / acting! #bsueng230
i love the 3 different narratives, but i especially like jin’s and the monkey king’s! the monkey king’s storyline with tze-yo-tzuh is my favorite so far #bsueng230
so it seems to be that her mom allowed’ the abuse from her father to happen to Marianne and then allows the way Alan treats her to continue, and while it doesn’t specify the level of abuse he obviously uses aggression towards her
i really want to know more of Marianne’s family situation because it’s obviously not good or healthy, the biggest glimpse we get of it is on page 68 where it says “Denise decided a long time ago that it is acceptable for men to use aggression toward Marianne...” #bsueng230
“You eliminate the parts of your life that others find strange—maybe that’s what everyone means when they say they wants to “cure” me (pg. 94).” #bsuwlit
“...and so you needn’t let that slightly funny feeling you have from time to time about exploitation, oppression, domination develop into full-fledged unease, discomfort; you could ruin your holiday.” (pg 10) #bsuwlit
