@dgkeyes Congrats! Moving up the review could be an option if you feel satisfied from candidate diversity by looking at an initial random X number of application samples. In case you're not receiving apps from candidates you were in fact targeting, then might let the deadline remain same.

@paulnovosad J-PAL offers one of the best resources in learning Stata systematically with their finger exercises and a guided manual with 101-104 levels. If she is down for learning on the go, that's exactly what I did. Found J-PAL PIs to be accepting and appreciative of the learning curve.
