We need (constant) grace because we are sinners, not because we have already achieved dominion over sin.
Grace does not wait at the finish line of sanctification. Grace is what carries us through it.
Sure a ministry won't go up, because the bible says teachers have a higher standard, and because sin has consequences. But that's different to grace.
Perhaps you have a different definition of Grace - one that only promotes ministers, not one that shows mercy, forgiveness, patience, and sees the heart over the actions.
Are you going to say to the addict that comes to Jesus, "sorry buddy - your addiction that causes you to sin means you're stepping out of grace every day - you better get dominion over that addiction to stay in grace - from day 1"?
Are you going to say to the new Christian "until you get control over your daily sin, God's grace isn't enough to cover you"?
Perhaps you are confining your comments to ministers and mature Christians who wilfully live in sin without repentance. I think it would be helpful then to clarify that rather than blanket statements that may do more harm than good, especially to new Christians, or people who feel like they're too far gone to come to Christ.
Can you please share the scripture that supports this statement "When you engage in sin you are making a choice to step out of grace"?
And then what do you say is the consequences of stepping out of grace? If it is by grace we are saved (eph 2:8), then do you say we are stepping out of salvation?
If all have sinned and are sinners, and all sins are equal, and none of us are perfect as Christ was, do you say this means all of us make the choice daily to step out of grace? Even you?
If God chooses to bestow grace upon us, freely and lavishly, once we believe Christ is our savior, then how can our choice to sin (because we aren't perfect) override the choice of God of gifting his grace to us freely?
If not sinning is a requirement to stay in God's grace (and therefore salvation because of Eph 2:8), and staying in grace requires us to commit no sin (perfect lives), how is this any different to the old testament law?
@australian My father had pancreatic cancer in the early 80's. He is still in complete remission decades later. No miracle drug, just a miracle I say, and excellent Drs and Nursing staff at Ipswich General Hospital.
@TomFrankly Finally loaded my data into your expense tracker. I LOVE IT! It's so helpful - I also added "% of income" column etc.
My quick question - If I wanted to have the option of Fortnightly and Quarterly expenses, is there any way to modify the "Monthly Cost" formula (seems to be limited to Monthly and Annual atm)?
Thanks again for such a great template.
You don't have to bench 300 pounds.
You don't have to make millions of dollars.
You don't need to get on a 30 Under 30 list.
No one else actually cares. No one will be thinking about it a year from now – or even the week after it happens.
But they will care about how you make them feel.
If you helped them when they needed it.
If you made them feel safe, took away their stress, made them laugh, or gave them guidance.
They'll remember those actions forever.
Pursue the money/career/fitness goals only if they really matter to you, or if they're a healthy motivator that pushes you to work a harder (without burning out or ignoring people who need you).
But don't trick yourself into believing you need to achieve them in order for others to like you or remember you well.
Put the majority of your attention into helping other people feel better now and/or become better in the future.
You'll probably end up achieving a bunch of those vanity goals by accident anyway.
@TomFrankly Thanks so much for your reply. Yes an existing database with a pic in each entry, but I wanted the page icon to match that pic (so that when I use the "relation" field, it shows that pic instead of the default page icon). Sounds like the API is needed. Cheers!
@TomFrankly Hi Tom, as the Notion expert that I've followed for some time, is there any easy way to set page icons to picture in the page? It's very slow manually and thought you may know, or could point me to the answer?

My finished shot from this morning's total lunar eclipse. This image was captured by using two telescopes, one to capture intricate detail on the lunar surface, and one to capture the rich tones cast by Earth's shadow across the disc. Go ahead, zoom in on it!
