It’s crazy how far America has come since the HIV/AIDS crisis. I’m sure receiving that diagnosis will still be devastating, but despite being incurable it’s not the death sentence it one was for some. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for African countries. #PP22
2/2… obtained naturally, some of them resort to tanning booths or other methods which has a lot of risks. It’s interesting that both exist simultaneously. #PP22
Michael brought up an interesting point in class Monday. Almost every continent has colorism favoring lighter skinned people. But in Europe and America there are a lot of people who are fond of tanning which obviously makes your skin darker. And if it can’t be… 1/2 #PP22
But I do know people personally from my country whouse it, and you can always tell because their skin color changes drastically by several shades and its often accompanied with scarring and redness. At that point, I believe they do it more for a standard of beauty. #PP22
.. 2/2 Africa, and South Asia. They lighten their skin just for it to go back to they’re natural color, to then have to lighten it some more. No wonder it’s an $8 billion industry. #PP22
Being afro Caribbean, skin lightning products are nothing new to me, but I’m very grateful that no one in my family that I know of uses it. I always found it interesting that the countries that experience the most son, are the ones that use it the most. Middle East… 1/2 #PP22
@NicoleB2017 @NateCarrPP22 @STONKS_STONK420 I remember ghosting several people who then went on and found me on multiple of my social media, which I didn’t even give them. It was unnerving. And as a woman, I’m always careful not to be disrespectful, because I’ve seen it trigger entitlement in and stalking in men. #PP22
For the sculpture that was supposedly received as a “gift”, did they even have proof of that? Do they really expect the world to just take their word for it? I know it was a long time ago but no documentation of anything? #PP22
If great Britain isn’t going to give India back the crown, they as well as other countries should compensate the countries which they took it from. A lot of those items have monetary value that could surely help its country. The crown from India is worth $12 million alone. #PP22
As much as I believe India should be given their crown back, I just don’t see it as realistic. Almost everything in our museums that represent different cultures are stolen and I’m sure some of those countries have expressed their desire to get them back- unsuccessfully. #PP22
@ForAClass342 Wow I never thought of this but now that you mention it, I’ve never seen a females fisherman. I am certainly sure there are some out there but it’s just not some thing you see that often in my experience. #PP22
So many industries prey on women because the standard society has set for us. Men get shampoo, body wash, and face wash in one for $5. Women get post poo split end remedy serum for $15. #PP22
@cadwaladr4ever I’m a little skeptical on this one. Only cause o think some sports are female dominated and there are A LOT of sports, pretty sure I’m not even aware of 1/2 of them. #PP22
The whole iMessage discussion highlighted the difference between male friendships and female friendships. As a woman I’d never give my friends number to a person who “knows” her- especially a guy- without her consent because I’m aware of the dangers. #PP22
