Road Update: West 59 Highway is now allowing travel fro Buchanan County, MO to Atchison, KS. A traffic control device is there to assist with east and westbound travel.

The current river level is 21.3'. The river should fall below moderate level by Thursday morning. Some pumping is being done in the City of Elwood and near the levee to get some of the interior water out until the discharge gates can be opened.

Kansas Highway Patrol is now closing the eastbound and westbound exit ramps into the city of Elwood.

Local officials are still recommending Elwood residents to stay evacuated. The new crest prediction is 32.0 but the levee is in good shape and it has NOT over-topped.
