Got it done! First “race” in years. Good enough for 3rd in my AG today, which was a massive surprise. What a great way to end a great year. Today could not have gone any better. Thanks to everyone in my team, for everything.
As a competitive cyclist, choosing a random number of calories to consume daily isn't a great tactic (ex. 2500), every day. Yet I see this approach often enough.
Are you expending the same amount of calories each day? Very unlikely at that level. Big training days expend a lot of energy!
Your energy intake should relate to both your exercise energy expenditure and daily energy needs including non-exercise activity (some people NEVER STOP MOVING!). Account for it all.

As an athlete you should aim to become the authority on yourself. To listen to your body & mind, hear what it has to say and adapt what you do according to the signals. Only then should you supplement with technological driven data inputs.
