The most annoying part of all the dodgers talk is the discourse between media talking heads trying to talk down to fans. “The Dodgers are just using their resources you shouldn’t be mad at them” ummmm I will absolutely be mad at them. It’s absurd they have unique advantages from their sweetheart tv deal that saves them almost $70M a year until 2039 and from the Ohtani deal thanks to how it’s structured that both could literally never be replicated by any other team no matter “how much their owners spend”. The whole point is they have every built in advantage possible. It’s loser talk and annoying but guess what fans have the right to be upset by it! Because it leads to a product that is completely uncompetitive and imbalanced. Which isn’t fun for every other fanbase knowing they have no shot and the dodgers won’t be punished at all for completely whiffing on a mega deal like Kyle Tucker because they’re fine. And they can trade top prospects knowing they have the ability to retain guys in free agency unlike other teams. It’s all related! If you’ve read this far you’re a sicko I love you. End of rant fellow baseball fans we’re screwed enjoy the lockout.
