But you'll see Kannada News Channels and National News Channels trying to give it a communal colour by terming it as 'Love Jihad'. News Agency like @ANI has been giving updates every half an hour in this case.
Media channels are trying their best to communalize this unfortunate murder before elections.
You'll soon see this murder will be used by the BJP to appeal to voters in their election speeches. There are several similar unfortunate incidents across India, Both in the BJP ruled state and non BJP ruled states. But this case is special for the media because it has a Hindu-Muslim angle to it. There was another murder in Karnataka, but in that case, The accused was not a Muslim and the victim was a Hindu. Which is why people like @smitaprakash would strategically avoid reporting that.

I hate doing this comparison. Naming the accused and the religion. But it's important to highlight this because the media in India is selectively reporting and highlighting if the accused is from one community and avoiding reporting such incidents if the accused isn't a Muslim or from a BJP ruled state.

Delhi: 26-year-old Muslim man tied to pole, beaten to death on suspicion of theft!!!

The incident took place on Tuesday morning at G4 block of northeast Delhi's Sunder Nagri!!!

Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey said fruit vendor Abdul Wajid (60), a resident of Sunder Nagri, lodged a complaint claiming that his son Israr died after being assaulted by some people on suspicion of theft!!!

According to Wajid, when he reached his house on Tuesday evening, he saw his son lying outside, writhing in pain. There were injury marks all over his body, the DCP said!!!

Israr told his father that around 5am, some youngsters caught him near G4 block and accused him of stealing!!! They then tied him to a pole and thrashed him with sticks!!! He said the assailants lived near the G4 block, Tirkey said!!!

Israr's neighbour Aamir brought him home in a rickshaw and at around 7pm, he succumbed to his injuries, he said!!!
