Something a lot of people don't know is that every prototype game that gets submitted to WATA since late 2020 has gone through me first. As part of the process I digitize the game and write up analysis, which I'm allowed to share- starting now! (thread)
@PSAvideogames Just fyi to anyone reading these replies, any prototypes that are sent for grading are first verified by the VGHF and part of that process includes dumping the ROM. It's been confirmed for a while that the data in this Famicom cartridge matches the final game.
@JaeronMerc This is objectively the correct answer, but its because of it that such a major player in the industry exists. Hard to say how things would have played out otherwise.
@yoshinokentarou Hello, overseas user!
This has been known about for a few months. Frank Cifaldi dumped the program ROM and released it on August 30, 2025. The character ROM was missing so a re-creation of it was created by various users.

@catgirlkimijima We actually almost got Virtual Console on Nintendo Switch, as it was codenamed Clipper, but plans switched to a different project codenamed L-Classics due to the numerous criticisms and flaws of Virtual Console at the time.

@KeionJ05 Are we forgetting about the time Nintendo might have accidentally shown Smash 64 in the menu in one of their videos? Look at the bottom right. Also the box in the middle is Forsaken 64 which did release not long after.
