Jesus-followers neglect the 2nd command: love your neighbor as yourself. We are to empathize with people (as yourself). Instead, believers give reasons people don't deserve it/why they aren't neighbors in the 1st place. Empathy is Christlike. #MoodPitch#Christian#nonfiction
Do you know the story behind O Holy Night?
If you know me at all, you know that I love Christmas music. My favorite song is O Holy Night.
I’ve loved it since I was a little kid, but I didn’t know the origins of it until a few years ago... and it blew me away.

@SlickPen50 I’m glad “your group” wasn’t part of the KKK, but what I’ve learned is that silence was absolutely participation. I’d encourage you to read “Letter from Birmingham Jail” & research the pastors to whom it was written. Study the 16th St Church bombing & read up on the bombers.
It’s one thing to say it was/is wrong. But they believed they were justified based on their religion and the Scriptures, and that’s the part that makes me angry. /end (for now)
How hypocritical was the faith of my white ancestors, exactly? I can’t reckon with it. The Jesus I know has no part of slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, violence,—not to mention the continued injustices of today.
Just listened to the first episode of @JemarTisby’s mini series, White Nation Under God. It’s timely, thought-provoking, and insightful. You should check it out.
If we would only catch a glimpse—even a shadow of a glimpse—at how the Father sees us, how He’s constantly working on our behalf, running toward us at the hint of our turning to Him—it would effectively change our lives forever.
If every time I condemn homophobia and transphobia you assume I’m condemning Christians, that tells me everything I need to know about your version of “Christianity.”
Remember, the question isn’t:
"Is this action leftist or right-wing, liberal or conservative, socialist or capitalist?"
The question is:
"Does this action love my neighbor and look out for their interests more than my own.”

I am utterly convinced that God will have all kinds of grace if we got the theology wrong. I’m not entirely sure about how God will take it if we got the loving other people, seeking justice, and choosing mercy part of life wrong.
