The National Federation of Republican Assemblies, an organization that works with State Republicans and State Republican Assemblies, issued a statement using the Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857) U.S. Supreme Court ruling to argue that Kamala Harris is NOT qualified to run for President of the United States.

In the Dred Scott v. Sandford ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court stated that "enslaved people were not citizens of the United States and, therefore, could not expect any protection from the federal government or the courts." The opinion also stated that Congress had no authority to ban slavery from a Federal territory.

The National Federation of Republican Assemblies also cited six other U.S. Supreme Court cases and named previous presidential candidates - including Republicans. Some of six Supreme Court cases they cited contradicted their stance and belief regarding Kamala Harris, but for the most part, what they are trying to convey is since Kamala Harris' parents weren't born in the United States, that disqualifies Harris from running for office.

They wrote: "An originalist and strict constructionist understanding of the Constitution in the Scalia and Thomas tradition, as well as precedent-setting U.S. Supreme Court cases ... have found that a ‘Natural Born Citizen’ is defined as a person born on American soil of parents who are both citizens of the United States at the time of the child’s birth."
