ANA NAVARRO NEEDS A MAP. AND MAYBE A PARTY CARD.
Ana Navarro went on The View to defend Ilhan Omar and decided to take a swing at the First Lady:
"Didn't at least two of his wives come from the former Soviet Union?"
The audience roared. Whoopi nodded. Nobody checked a map.
Let's do it for them.
Ivana was born in Czechoslovakia. Not the Soviet Union. A Soviet-bloc country, sure, the kind of place Soviet tanks rolled into in 1968 to crush the Prague Spring. Different thing. The Czechs would like a word.
Melania was born in Slovenia, which was part of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was famous for one thing in Soviet history: Tito telling Stalin to pound sand in 1948. Yugoslavia was never in the Soviet Union. Never in the Warsaw Pact. Never even on speaking terms for a while.
Quick geography lesson, since apparently nobody on that couch owns an atlas.
Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital, to Venice, Italy: about 115 miles as the crow flies. A nice day trip. Lunch on the Grand Canal.
Same spot to Moscow: about 1,200 miles. You'd need two days, three countries and a very good reason.
Melania grew up closer to Venice than Dallas is to Houston. It is not Siberia.
Melania speaks multiple languages. Ana can't locate one country.
And here's the part that makes my head spin. Ana Navarro was born in Nicaragua. Her family "fled" the Sandinistas, the Soviet-backed communists, according to her. If that's the story, she of all people should know exactly where the Soviet Union was. Her family ran from it.
But fleeing Daniel Ortega doesn't make you a fiscal conservative. Being to the right of Daniel Ortega is not a high bar. Most of the Democratic Party clears it. Bernie clears it on a good day. My guess? Ana always leaned left. She just leaned a little less left than a Marxist guerrilla, and somebody handed her a Republican name tag.
Now the bigger question. Is Ana Navarro a Republican?
She calls herself one. Let's check the receipts. She voted for Hillary in 2016. She backed Biden in 2020. She hosted a night of the Democratic National Convention in 2024.
Ma'am. You're a Democrat in a disguise that stopped fooling anyone around 2016.
So what is she? Here's my theory. "Never-Trump Republican" is a job title. It pays. It gets you a chair on The View, a cable contract and a standing ovation from a studio audience that thinks Slovenia is a skin condition. The moment she stops saying "I'm a Republican, but," the paychecks stop being special.
Call it a party if you want. I call it a grift. A pretty good one.
Free advice, Ana: before you mock another immigrant woman's homeland on national TV, maybe make sure you can find it.
It's the little country next to Italy. Bring sunscreen. 🗺️

Dear Secretary Bessent @SecScottBessent,
My name is Everett Stern. In 2010 I was a compliance officer at @HSBC. From a back office in New Castle, Delaware, I watched billions of dollars move to drug cartels, sanctioned regimes, and terrorist organizations. The enemies of the United States. I documented it, I escalated it, and when the bank would not act, I took it to the @FBI, the @CIA, and eventually the @SECGov.
The result was a $1.92 billion settlement. At the time, it was one of the largest in American history. It was also about five weeks of the bank’s profit. Not one banker was charged. Not one went to prison.
I paid a different price. I lost my career, my savings, and my place in the industry I had trained for. I was blacklisted. Every door in American finance closed at once. I slept on a camping cot in a 300 square foot apartment because I could not afford a bed, and I waited tables at @PFChangs to eat. I tell you this not for sympathy, but so you understand that I know exactly what it costs to do the right thing in American finance, and exactly how little the system does in return.
I made that sacrifice because I believed it would change something.
Yesterday, your department fined @BankofAmerica $1.2 billion for failing to report more than $5 billion in suspicious transactions, some of it tied by your own findings to Chinese laundering networks, narcotics, and the southwest border, alongside 475 apparent sanctions violations touching Russia, Iran, and global terrorism. The bank admitted it willfully violated the Bank Secrecy Act.
Fourteen years after HSBC. A bank with “America” in its name. And once again, not one individual charged.
Secretary Bessent, I want to say plainly what I believe you already know. The fines are not working.
A fine is paid by shareholders, absorbed by the balance sheet, and forgotten by the next earnings call. Bank of America reported earnings this morning. Nobody who set the alert thresholds, nobody who decided the 2024 cease and desist could wait, nobody who chose the backlog over the law will lose a single thing they value. Their lives are untouched. That is the entire reason the behavior repeats.
This is money laundering. This is blood money. Money that reaches a cartel buys fentanyl that kills Americans. Money that reaches a terrorist organization buys the next attack. This country has fought a war on drugs and a war on terror for decades, at enormous cost in lives and treasure, and all the while we have allowed the financing to flow through institutions we charter and regulate. Cut off the money and we win. We have never seriously tried.
There is also a question of equal justice that I cannot let go.
Before I walked into the FBI building to report HSBC, I stopped in front of the Great Seal on the wall and read the words engraved beneath it: “Justice is the defense of our liberty.” I believed that. I still want to. But every day in this country, people go to prison for crimes that are nothing next to moving money for the people who want Americans dead. A suit, a title, and a corporate badge should not be a shield from the consequences that apply to everyone else. If a street dealer goes to prison for what he sells, the banker who moved the cartel’s money should be standing next to him.
I also want to raise something that is rarely said in these conversations. Why has no one inside Bank of America come forward the way I did? The answer is that everyone in American banking knows what happened to me, and to the whistleblowers who came after. The last person who spoke up is the only policy anyone believes. That is a culture problem, and it starts with leadership, in the banks and in the agencies that regulate them.
This is not a political issue. It has spanned administrations of both parties. It is a national security issue, and I am asking you to treat it as one.
Three things would change the math overnight.
Refer individuals for criminal prosecution. Not the analyst in the queue. The executives who set the thresholds and chose the risk. One banker in handcuffs would do more than every fine in Treasury’s history combined.
End “too big to jail.” An institution cannot be too big to fail and too big to jail at the same time. If it is the first, it must be held to a higher standard, not a lower one.
And if Bank of America will not act as America’s bank, review its charter. A national charter is a privilege granted on behalf of the American people. It should be conditioned on not moving money for the people trying to kill them.
Secretary Bessent, you said yesterday that these actions send a clear message that even the biggest institutions are not above the law. With respect, the institution was never the problem. The people inside it are above the law, and they know it. Until that changes, I will keep writing letters like this one, and the next bank will keep paying the next fine.
I gave up everything I had to stop this. I am asking you to use the power you have to finish it.
Respectfully,
Everett A. Stern

@JuliaCourtTV I believe there’s more than one juror voting to convict, otherwise they would’ve come back within an hour this morning deadlocked if it was just one juror voting to convict.
Remember when Chris Cuomo came out of his basement like he was Jesus Christ resurrecting after COVID? The guy acted like he’d literally risen from the dead. What a fucking loser.
Where does the grocery store @Publix stand on @POTUS Trump and law enforcement? Based on our interactions with their DEI specialist "Community Relations Manager" - it seems they've sent a pretty clear message. Just thought you might want to know.
We were running a gala called the Big Blue Bash at Mar-A-Lago. It's an annual fundraiser for a 501(c)3 that takes care of the families of wounded and fallen officers.
We reached out to Publix to see if they'd be interested in sponsoring it. At the event, we were honoring the heads of all of the federal agencies, high profile veterans, the families of wounded and fallen officers and pro-police celebrities.
Our ask was small:
Hey, Publix...if you guys aren't in a position to sponsor it, would you be willing to provide perhaps a few sandwich platters or catering for a couple of dozen volunteers at the event (many were law enforcement)?
The response from their "community relations manager" (who is also an adjunct professor who LITERALLY teaches DEI)?
"Unfortunately, we would not be able to provide food for the volunteers.
When we tried to explain just how unique of an opportunity this was to support law enforcement at the home of President Trump for literally pennies.... she finally "generously" offered us ONE $100 gift card "for your auctions".
In our followup, we asked Robyn:
"Did Publix choose to pass on this opportunity because the event is at Mar a Lago or is it because Publix isn't interested in supporting the men and women who hold the thin blue line?
Was this decision made by your marketing team or at the ownership / corporate level?"
Crickets. Guess that tells you everything you need to know about DEI activism that seems to be now hitting Publix.
Thought you and your neighbors might want to know where it appears they stand.

Hey @ABC News. How can Sunny Hostin be your Senior Legal Correspondent and Analyst when she was caught on video unethically abusing her power to help her son escape accountability with police and lying about being a current federal prosecutor? The latter is a federal crime.
