[Mike Sautter @MikeSautter_]

No matter the conditions, Lincoln Lutheran sophomore Atley Janecek was ready.

Rain, wind, clouds, sun — whatever the environment threw at her, she was going to be ready.

After a record setting Friday, she has a chance for three more medals Saturday.

Friday, at the 2026 Nebraska State Track and Field Championship, Janacek found her mark on the runway for her first attempt in the long jump.

🥇STATE CHAMPION🥇

Lincoln Lutheran's Atley Janecek wins the Class C Long Jump (19' 9.25") while breaking the Class C record in the event

@LLActivities @1011_News #nebpreps

[nebpreps @THEnebpreps]

Janecek's wind-aided jump of 19-09.25 wins the Class C long jump event and claims a new all-time Nebraska No. 7.

Janecek also set a new Class C record with another jump at 19-04.25.

STATE CHAMP 🥇 all glory to God is right ✝️ so proud of you Atley

[nebpreps @THEnebpreps]

Despite a weather delay and coming off an injury, Atley Janecek of Lincoln Lutheran reaches 19’9.25” in the Class C long jump to win gold.

While her 19’9.25” jump was wind aided, Janacek also jumped 19’4.25,” which is the new Class C and meet record in girls long jump. 👏

[Brooklyn Schulte @BrooklynLiegel]

And it was!! 19-09.25 !! Let’s go Atley!!! 🥇

[Prep Running Nerd @PrepRunningNerd]

Atley Janecek, a sophomore at Lincoln Lutheran, was one of two third-flight Class C athletes who long jumped before the rain suspension. She had the second-best mark coming into State and jumped a wind-legal 19-04.25 to break the Class C State record of 19-01.5 set by Bethany DeLong of Laurel Concord in 2009. I would not be surprised if the record is broken again once competition returns.
