@waitbutwhy @poweredbyart This makes it look easy, but solar resources are unevenly distributed. Not all of this green land area is well suited. Plus population centers and transmission to consider. Wind or nuclear are more likely to outcompete solar further away from the equator (less sunlight hours)

(3) I actually just finished (re)reading another book: The Name of the Wind by @PatrickRothfuss. One reason I'm a huge fan is the seamless interweaving of chemistry into the plot & world. Turns out Rothfuss temporarily studied chemical engineering in college. Gives me perspective
