@RepLangworthy So, if I understand your position on this, of the 520-odd fires burning in the U.S. at the moment, none of this smoke finds its way into Canada. It couldnโt be, otherwise that would paint you as a hypocrite.
@WhiteHouse You have conveniently overlooked that the Western US has just as many acres of fires burning at the moment as does all of Canada. The prevailing winds blow from West to East.
@RepLangworthy Oh, and a couple of other factoids to hopefully educate you a bit further: Western US has just as many acres of fires burning at the moment as does all of Canada. The prevailing winds blow from West to East.
@RepLangworthy The US population is 10X Canada. You are the 2nd largest emitter of greenhouse gases (behind China; Canada, sits around 10th - nothing to be smug about). Greenhouse gases are increasing the global temperature, and triggering more forest fires. Fix the cause first, not the symptom
@nenshi What an age we live in where even talking to someone can cause a political shit-storm. Itโs no wonder we canโt get competent people in politics (present company excluded). Who would want to subject themselves to such mean-spirited nonsense all the time.
@JohnJamesMI Weโre all in this together. An increase in forest fires is a consequence of climate change. The U.S. has ten times the population of Canada. What are you doing to significantly reduce your production of greenhouse gases that increase our temperatures, and lead to more fires?
@TheJasonPugh@PierrePoilievre Iโm still waiting for the announcement from PP that he will be moving out of Stornaway. What kind of a message is PP sending by living in a better home than our Prime Minister?
@CBSNews The whole time he did have a commercial license, was undertaking recurrent pilot training, and regularly passing company flight tests with a senior check pilot. While it was illegal, it seems to be more of a paperwork issue, and didnโt affect his ability to fly safely.
