Trump is mostly punishing Canada for being a left wing state that destroyed its own economy. This part is bigger than Trump. The maple leaf is firmly wrapped in political colours (with a u). Canada took a political position first, and now has to deal with politics.
Approving some pipelines would go a long ways. Killing the tanker ban is almost a game changer by itself. Carney needs to get a backbone and make some decisions, or Canada is going to suffer, and that’s not just because of one crazy wacko.
@FoodProfessor Most conservatives generally agree that data centres should generate their own electricity and have a closed water system that doesn’t drain local watersheds permanently. With the amount of money going into AI, let it mitigate its own disruption.
@DahliaKurtz Canada was absolutely founded on faith. It was also founded on European values, particularly British and French.
Mark Carney should walk these comments back.
@RobinReichman1 Fun fact, the Conservative Party is ahead by ten points in your province, which is the “California” of Canada. Times might well be changing.
@nationalpost Still mostly Justin Trudeau, but now Carney wears about 33% of the blame for having plenty of opportunity to fix left wing extremism and not doing it.
