@TravelodgeUK I’ve booked and paid for two rooms at London Euston. We left haha this morning without issue. We’ve checked in tonight and “because of refurbishment” the rooms aren’t available (for others too). This is outrageous.

@AvantiWestCoast Train home has also been cancelled. So the transport on the other side now has to be changed (hopefully possible) and I won’t get the seat I’d booked.
When you tendered for this service, why not commit to being able to service Chester? It’s just not ok.

@AvantiWestCoast Much inconvenience. I book so i get a seat so now may need to stand… again. Should i just not book a direct train again? I thought it might be cancelled because it’s not popular. If yes, just don’t run them! Wish me luck getting on the next train and making my meeting on time.

@GuardianEdu The subsidy has doubled to 50% (it doesn't actually pay for 50% of the cost though), but the funding per child has reduced by 58% - from £162 in 22/23 to £67.50 in 23/24.
