Today we're launching BrowserOS neo on Product Hunt 🚀

AI agents are great at writing code, but bad at using the web. cloud browsers get IP-blocked, headless ones are blind.

neo is the missing browser for Claude, Cowork & Codex: runs locally, uses your real logins, and shows every agent action in a live cockpit.

Free & Open Source 👇

AI agents often stop at the login screen when a task requires clicking through a real browser session.

BrowserOS is a free, open-source Chromium fork with an AI agent built into every new tab.

It uses 20+ built-in tools and 40+ app integrations to complete browser tasks, with support for users' own AI keys or local models through Ollama.

Key features:
• Built-in agent can summarise pages, click through flows, extract data, and run scheduled tasks.
• Can run as an MCP server so Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client can control it.
• Side-panel chat lets users summarise, ask questions about, and transform the current page.
• Combines browser automation with local file operations in one session.
• Supports 11+ AI providers, including fully local models through Ollama and LM Studio.

BrowserOS is free and open source under AGPL-3.0.

STOP copy-pasting prices into spreadsheets.

i gave BrowserClaw one prompt

it opened its own tabs, browsed Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max, and built the sheet, the chart, and the finished "Streaming Costs 2026" slide.

i just watched.

I just filed my taxes with claude code + browserclaw

Claude code knew what to fill and by giving it a browser - it just automated my whole tax filing process...

Quick video on how I used 367 billion tokens in the last 30 days by multitasking with cmux

My peak per-day token usage is 37 billion tokens on GPT 5.6 Sol

My workflow is pretty simple. The 80/20 is that I press Cmd+Shift+U whenever Codex notifies me, and I review the cmux dev build/artifact/bug fix, and respond. And then Cmd+Shift+U and repeat...

If there's ever a point in time where there's no more notifications that I need to Cmd+Shift+U to, I start a new workspace with a new task.

I don't use fancy harnesses (just vanilla Claude Code/Codex), I don't do fancy agent orchestration either (I only use the built in subagents from Codex/Claude Code), I don't use /loop, and I barely use /goal.

This would have cost $85k over API but we only paid $7.4k (37 ChatGPT Pro 20x accounts + tons of tibo resets... and this is only my usage, since subrouter lets my cofounder share usage with me too (and CodexBar only counts local token usage))

@browserOS_ai You guys really cooked with BrowserClaw! I’m loving the unique approach it’s already a great tool, and with a few more features, it has the potential to be truly amazing. Keep up the great work!

@OpenAI @OpenAINewsroom What’s this nonsense about getting rid of Atlas entirely? You’re telling people to try it in the ChatGPT app, but it doesn’t even exist there for me. How are you going to release a browser and then pull a Google on the people who actually use it? Guess I’ll be switching to @browserOS_ai with @MiniMax_AI powering it.

Since Atlas is shutting down on 10th of August, I was trying to find a good alternative.
As a Mac user, Safari can be the first choice, tried it again with open mind and wanted REALLY give it a chance. However, Safari is an ancient browser, very annoying.
I tried Phi, I tried Ego ... they are close to what I would like but not good enough. Both are slow and they are not close to the experience I have been enjoying with Atlas in the last 6-9 months.
🎆I finally found the one that pushed me to come here an comment, it is https://t.co/6hec2bXdSL @browserOS_ai
Simply fall in love about the speed, simplicity and being even an uplift compared to Atlas.
I support them, they deserve ⭐️ on their repo, recommended https://t.co/ywkTto6bGn
