“There is a terrible ailment of pessimism in the land. It’s almost endemic.
We’re constantly fed a steady and sour diet of character assassination, faultfinding, evil speaking of one another. …
I come with a plea that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight!
I’m suggesting that we accentuate the positive.
I’m asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment virtue and effort.
I am suggesting and asking is that we turn from the negativism that so permeates our society and look for the remarkable good in the land and times in which we live, that we speak of one another’s virtues more than we speak of one another’s faults, that optimism replace pessimism.
LET OUR FAITH REPLACE OUR FEARS!
We have EVERY reason to be optimistic in this world.
Tragedy is around, yes.
Problems everywhere, yes.
But … you can’t, you don’t, build out of pessimism or cynicism. You look with optimism, work with faith, and things happen.
Do not despair.
Do not give up.
Look for the sunlight through the clouds. Opportunities will eventually open to you.
Do not let the prophets of gloom endanger your possibilities.
Cultivate an attitude of happiness. Cultivate a spirit of optimism.
Walk with faith, rejoicing in the beauties of nature, in the goodness of those you love, in the testimony which you carry in your heart concerning things divine.
The Lord’s plan is a plan of happiness. The way will be lighter, the worries will be fewer, the confrontations will be less difficult if we cultivate a spirit of happiness.”

Presidents of the Church,
Chapter 3
Here's a look back at how some of the self-proclaimed "news organizations" covered VP candidate JD Vance versus how they covered VP candidate Tim Walz.
See if you can spot the difference.
This is why there will never be another Charlie Kirk.
He teaches a master class on homelessness, illegal immigration, and socialism in under three minutes.
Today, America wakes 250 years later as a beacon of hope, a republic entrusted to its people, an idea that changed the world.
A nation worth preserving. A dream worth pursuing. A freedom defended by every generation.
Happy 250th, America! 🇺🇸
Robin Williams’ emotional tribute to the American Flag leaves an entire stadium speechless — then in tears.
Is there a single Hollywood star who would give this performance today?
Total Patriot.
RIP Legend 🇺🇸
I’m in tears. President Trump just said “with God all things are possible”. Jesus Christ is absolutely King
“We officially rededicated America as One Nation Under GOD”
AMEN 🙏
Read the Book of Mormon.
Cover to cover.
Pray about it, asking sincerely to know whether it’s true (the final chapter provides specific guidance on this point).
Then tell me whether Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ.
Will you accept that challenge?
For 160 years, "Nahom" in the Book of Mormon was a name that didn't exist anywhere on Earth.
Joseph Smith dictated it in 1829 — the desert place where Ishmael was buried in 1 Nephi 16:34. The text uses the passive: "the place which was CALLED Nahom." Lehi (a prophet in the BofM) didn't name it. It was already there.
In 1988, German archaeologists excavating the Bar'an Temple at Marib in Yemen recovered three votive altars donated by men of the NHM tribe — dated to the 7th–6th centuries BC. Same name. Same century. Same region.
In Hebrew, NHM means "to comfort." In Arabic, NHM means "to mourn." Both meanings collapse onto the very moment a father-in-law was buried in the wilderness.
How could a 23-year-old farmboy in upstate New York have named an Arabian tribal burial ground in 1829 that wasn't excavated until 1988?

How would you discuss the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution in terms of moral agency? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has created a webpage featuring a discussion guide, video and other resources for a fifth-Sunday meeting on May 31 across the country. The discussion page — found on https://t.co/rWFZ3lNs9p — is titled “Celebrating the Founding of the United States and the U.S. Constitution.”
The lesson focuses on moral agency and how the Constitution and Declaration of Independence support religious liberty. A new video — with President @ChristoffDTodd of the First Presidency and Elder @CookQuentinL of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles — provides instruction about the significance of those documents and related events that enabled the Restoration of the Church.
Also available on https://t.co/B1pkIb5smK and the Church News app, Elder @RonaldARasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles recently ministered in the Dominican Republic. Speaking to Latter-day Saints at a special conference held at the Eleoncio Mercedes Sports Center in La Romana, Elder Rasband delivered a Christ-centered message of faith and hope. And during his visit, the Apostle also presided at a devotional attended by more than 800 missionaries serving in missions in Santiago and Santo Domingo.
So... y'all know about Deseret, right?
Not the increasingly irrelevant SLC newspaper... the word DESERET.
And do you know why the BEEHIVE is the symbol of Utah?
It turns out that the Book of Mormon holds the key! How did Joseph Smith in 1829 guess that the word DESERET had ancient Egyptian origins and connections to the honeybee?
