One problem with "you shouldn't review the code" is that when I review the code, even with the extremely thorough agentic coding system I have set up, I still regularly find things that should never ever ever ever be shipped, even though it technically works.

I don't know when I will be able to ship sight-unseen, but that time is nowhere near right now.

smaller-ish company you’re going to lean more towards a builder role with prototyping and constant user interaction

bigger-ish or enterprise you’re a ticket jockey + project manager

This is how I use AI and I’ve been feeling like a stupid moron for a while now so it’s nice to feel some vindication.

I don’t use loops, skills, fancy orchestration, plugins or anything like that. I raw dog the agent with its default harness, I read the code, and I’m shipping more than ever to production for real projects used by real people. Sometimes if it’s a low risk part of the application I might skip reading the code but only sometimes. I think most are either lying about the amount of value they are creating or just having fun while understanding they aren’t creating value but failing to distinguish that to their audience.
