After getting an earful all around the province, the @BCLegislature finance committee recommended scrapping the NDP’s $1.4B PST expansion.

But the Finance Minister is determined to push ahead with this tone deaf, poorly timed, job destroying tax hike.

The Snowbirds officially debuted in Abbotsford in 1971.

This year marked the final Abbotsford performance for their iconic CT-114 Tutors after 55 years.

I’ve admired this team since I was a kid. Watching them prepare for that final flight here was genuinely emotional. 🇨🇦

One year after the Cowichan decision, nothing has been fixed, and British Columbians are still living with the uncertainty this NDP government allowed to take root.

Families in Richmond who bought their homes in good faith are still wondering whether their title is secure. Businesses like Montrose Properties are still dealing with the real economic damage. And the province is still dragging its feet on a stay while the 18-month clock ticks toward February 2027.

I have said this from day one and I will say it again: Aboriginal title and private property rights cannot coexist over the same land. You cannot tell people they own their homes, pay their mortgages and property taxes, and then layer a senior title on top of them that has to be negotiated. That is not reconciliation. That is legal chaos.

The Cowichan have said they do not intend to go after private property. Fine. But assurances are not a substitute for clear law. Banks, buyers, insurers and investors do not operate on press releases. They operate on certainty of title. Right now that certainty is gone in parts of Richmond, and the precedent is being watched across the entire province.

David Eby and Niki Sharma keep repeating that private property rights are non-negotiable. Then act like it. File the stay application immediately and pursue it aggressively. Join the call for a reference to the Supreme Court of Canada so this fundamental question is answered once and for all by the highest court in the land. Stop advancing further agreements that rest on the same unresolved legal foundation.

Private property is the foundation of our economy and our free society. When that foundation is put in doubt, everything else becomes unstable. The NDP had years to defend fee-simple title properly in court. They failed. Now they have a duty to fix the mess they helped create.

British Columbians deserve to know that the home they worked for is still theirs, not something that can be reopened, renegotiated, or clouded by future court rulings. We will keep fighting until that clarity is restored.

The NDP will do anything to keep its reconciliation plans quiet.

Only buried in public accounts do we see the extent of crown land forfeitures.

Where’s the public in all of this? Holding a couple of Zoom meetings and poorly advertised town-halls is not good governance in public engagement.

Now I get it.
I’ll get called the typical names for criticizing the government that deems itself as immune to criticism.

But more importantly, it’s what you don’t see.

Many expected a final-stage update to the Tahltan Foundation Agreement last Friday which presumably includes a Haida-style recognition of Aboriginal Title.

It was an honour to join MLA @mack4change in West Kelowna. The fires have been devastating, but seeing brave British Columbians come together to help their neighbours, volunteer and support evacuees is inspiring. This is the B.C. spirit in action.

I saw heartbreaking devastation left by the Bradley Creek fire in the Okanagan, but also incredible resilience. The historic O’Keefe Ranch survived thanks to first responders and emergency crews.

My thoughts are with families facing the unimaginable loss left by these fires.

Visited the Westbank Lions Community Centre and the ESS reception centre at Kal Tire Place in Vernon with my friend, MLA David Williams @Shuswapland, to stand with Okanagan communities affected by the fires.

UBC Sauder’s MBA program just ranked second-last in the entire world for a reason: only about half of their 2025 graduates had a job three months after finishing. Seventy-two percent of the class are international students. Meanwhile, local graduates are struggling and businesses keep telling us they can’t find the right people or can’t afford to expand here.

This isn’t a surprise. Under the NDP we’ve seen private-sector job growth stagnate while the government piles on taxes, red tape, and uncertainty. The average home in Metro Vancouver still costs well over a million dollars, with the benchmark price sitting around $1.1 million. Young people finishing an expensive degree can’t get a foothold when housing is that out of reach.

Corporate head offices aren’t coming to Vancouver. In fact, they’re heading the other way. Interfor just announced it’s moving most of its executive and back-office functions from Burnaby down to Georgia. Canadian manufacturers are openly looking at relocating production to the U.S. because of costs and uncertainty here. Our startup scene is under pressure too. Early-stage companies across Canada, including in B.C., are raising less capital and fewer deals are getting done while the money concentrates in a handful of larger rounds.

Universities keep expanding international enrolment because the tuition dollars are easy, but the jobs for those graduates and for our own kids just aren’t there. British Columbians deserve post-secondary programs that actually lead to good-paying work in a growing economy. That means getting serious about private-sector job creation, cutting the barriers that drive investment and talent away, and taking control of immigration so it serves our communities instead of overwhelming them.

Of course there are safety plans in place for this LNG infrastructure. It will be built safely and responsibly. That was never in question.

This is the type of political posturing that leads to regulatory delays in British Columbia under the NDP government. This project should have moved forward sooner to create opportunities for BC workers and much-needed private sector economic development.

It also shows a divided cabinet on LNG development. This was a Cabinet Order and a Minister seems to be opposed to the project??

Canadians were told that 215 children lay in unmarked graves at the former Kamloops residential school. Twelve million dollars in public funds was provided specifically to investigate those claims, recover remains, and bring children home to their families. That work has not been done. Basic reporting requirements were waived. No meaningful accounting has been provided.

If those children are buried there, then the work of identification and recovery must proceed without delay. Families deserve answers. The country deserves the truth. If the claims cannot be substantiated after years and millions of dollars, then the public is owed a clear explanation of what happened to the money and why the investigation never advanced.
