Earth is still bound to the Late Cenozoic Ice Age, and our planet's average global temperature still hovers around a very livable 15°C.
This is far below the world's long-term planetary average of 18°C to 24°C - seen throughout most of Earth's biological history. It makes the idea of a global warming crisis seem out of sync with reality.
Despite four decades of continuous climate alarmism, roughly 10% of the Earth's total land area remains permanently capped by glacial ice, which covers 15 million square kilometers (5.8 million square miles).
That is nearly a third of its extent during the peak of the Last Glacial Maximum (26,000 to 19,000 years ago), when continental ice sheets reached their historical zenith.
The Antarctic ice sheet remains the largest and thickest body of ice on the planet, extending up to 4.8 kilometers (about 3 miles) deep. It holds roughly 90% of global ice volume and accounts for 85% of total glacial land cover. Spanning 14 million square kilometers (5.4 million square miles), Antarctica alone makes up 8.3% of Earth's total land surface.
A basic geographical reality is often forgotten: land comprises a mere 28% of the planet's surface. All human cities, towns, and infrastructure combined occupy just 1% to 3% of that land (while deserts take up 33% and forests 31%).
We live on an ocean world, and waters cover 72% of the globe to an average depth of 2.3 miles.
Crucially, the oceans hold 86% of the global carbon reservoir and absorb over 90% of retained thermal energy. By contrast, the atmosphere holds a fraction of a percent of each. The oceans—not human industrial activity—serve as the true long-term regulatory engine for atmospheric carbon dioxide and global climate stability.
The current Quaternary Glaciation is part of an ice age cycle that began 34 million years ago with the thermal isolation and glaciation of Antarctica, later intensified by the closure of the Isthmus of Panama and orbital variations (Milankovitch cycles).
Carbon dioxide was not the driver of these immense shifts.
All of human civilisation, agriculture and technological progress has unfolded within a brief, warm respite: the Holocene interglacial period, which began just 11,700 years ago.
Yet for 40 years, the narrative has been dominated by a campaign driven by an unaccountable bureaucratic authority—the United Nations—pushing an agenda of global control.
The promised catastrophe of runaway, unprecedented warming never arrived.
never put yourself in a situation where you need bitcoin price to go up in the short term
thats how you get rekt
bitcoin accumulation is a long term game of survival
and nobody can do it for you
stack real bitcoin, not that fake shit
“BTC uses too much energy.”
There’s only 3 ways to secure a monetary ledger.
- with atoms (gold)
- with energy (BTC)
- with social / political consensus (fiat)
Energy is the only path to unbreakable hard money. There’s no scarcity of atoms.
Israel got UK soldiers to help in the Gaza genocide while the British people and parliament aren't even told about it, because Britain is an Israeli puppet state.
There is no class of person more smug than a Eurocrat, and no one with less to be smug about.
The EU does not have freedom of speech. The EU has permitted and unpermitted speech. The relevant definition is in Article 11 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights, which states the right to free speech may be curtailed for:
- national security
- territorial integrity
- public health
- prevention of disorder or crime
- protection of health or morals(!)
- protection of rights and reputations
- protection of confidential information
- protection of judges' authority & independence.
- anything else "necessary in a democratic society."
The EU is extremely keen on exercising its right to restrict speech. This is in large part because its leaders have often tried - and failed badly at - national democratic politics. Consequently they loathe the people they govern.
Ms von der Leyen, for example, used to be the German Defense Minister. Under her watch, German soldiers joined NATO exercises using broomsticks instead of guns, because no guns were available at the time.
She was then caught up in a major defense contract corruption scandal. When the Bundestag launched an investigation, she deleted her phone records and cited "national security."
The Eurocrat loves a corrupt failure, so naturally she became President of the Commission. Sending your most hated ministers to the EU is the German equivalent of the Vatican relocating child-diddlers to a small village in Botswana.
The Eurocrat nonetheless believes it is born to rule - or at least regulate - the world. It is extremely maternalistic and it both hates and fears innovation, because innovation requires freedom, and the Eurocrat does not understand it.
It is implacably hostile to the Anglosphere tradition, which holds that freedom is the default position. The Eurocrat believes that everything is presumptively illegal unless it says otherwise.
In the last 50 years, the US has built 6 tech companies with a trillion dollar market cap. In that time, the EU Commission admits it has not built a single €100bn tech company from scratch.
It's so bad that in 2024, the EU made more from slapping specious fines on American tech companies than it made in taxes from its entire domestic digital/internet economy.
In 2008, the EU's GDP was 110% the size of the US. It is now around 67%. In that time, the poorest US state has drawn near-level with the richest EU nation.
(The Eurocrat response to this is to smugly point at the Colosseum. Which is fitting, as the EU is a ruin, and it cannot recreate the achievements of its ancestors. Americans, meanwhile, build colosseums for college sports.)
The Eurocrat then demands the right to "regulate our own space," and by this it means "control what is said online."
But it does not have a space to regulate. Everyone uses American tech platforms, because the Eurocrat has made the EU a technological irrelevance. And so the right to self-regulate seamlessly becomes the demand to regulate the American space.
By "regulate" it means "fines and censorship." It thinks it has the right to govern the internet.
These self-satisfied failures, who create nothing, believe they are entitled to tell Americans what they are allowed to say, to read, and to think.
When they're rejected, they puff themselves up, huff a champagne glass full of their own farts, and scold America for refusing to kneel before their betters.
The correct response is: Merry Christmas, go fuck yourselves.
The difference in monthly payment between 30 and 50 years on a $1,000,000 mortgage is only $700
But you’ll pay $1.1 million more in interest over the life of the loan
I think a lot of boomers just don't realize how absurdly far the UK has shifted towards communism.
The 95th percentile of income for a person is £100,000. That's someone who is exceptionally skilled and hard working, or who got a cushy job somehow. Not even MPs earn that much, and they run the country.
Once you subtract all the different taxes stealth taxes via outrageously inflated utilities, etc, that person is going to be actually taking home £56,000 that they can spend. That is of course before rent or a mortgage or transport.
The 25th percentile of income is earning about £28,000. But if you claim universal credit, PIP, an enhanced motability car and the associated council tax and utility bill reductions, you actually end up taking home £33,000.
Once you take into account needing to live in a more expensive area, probably needing nicer clothes and more expensive social functions, you are barely netting anything for being in the 95th percentile compared to the 25th percentile. E.g. if the 95th percentile worker rents an average 1-bedroom flat in zone 3, they are going to pay about £20,000 per year in rent. That means that they take £36,000 per year home after all the mandatory deductions, which they might hope to save, invest or enjoy.
But the company they work for had to pay the government about £117,000 for them because of mandatory pension contributions and employer's national insurance, and likely generates something like £300,000 of revenue from them.
So in the UK if you do £300,000 worth of work, after all the different parasites have sucked you dry you take home £36,000, which is nearly a 90% effective tax rate. Some of that is a fair cop - things like corporate profits and overhead are inevitable and to some extent represent the cost of capital or the cost of risk*
(*though of course the people who own that capital probably didn't get it by working for it the way the 95th percentile worker is actually working for his salary. They likely got born on top of an oil reservoir or had some kind of money printer to just print their capital and let everyone else pick up the bill for it. And although the UK also has oil reserves, we decided to leave it in the ground because of climate policy, whilst importing oil from the Middle East and handing them our money, which then gives them the capital to buy the company you work for and skim some fraction of the value you generate as their own passive income)
But this also doesn't take into account value added tax at 20% on your consumption or various other taxes and duties and laws that the government uses to take even more money away from you once it finally makes it into your pocket.
E.g. brand new good quality electric vehicles from China are marked up from about £15,000 to £30,000 by a combination of VAT, import duty and various red tape/laws. So you are paying DOUBLE what a chinese person pays for the exact same electric car. If you buy and sell bitcoin, the government will take 18-24% of your gains. Clothing is marked up 30% by VAT and duties. Almost everything you can buy in the UK carries a hidden 30-50% markup that ends up going to the government and its clients one way or another.
An exceptionally talented UK graduate could work at a research lab or tech firm and generate £300,000 of value, and take home just £36,000 net of all the different taxes, fees and rents and then spend almost all that on a brand new BYD Dolphin that sells for £15,000 in China.
Meanwhile someone on £25,000 at a supermarket job could get that same BYD Dolphin on motability because they said they had anxiety.
We have arrived at communism via sleight of hand and big government.
The London Stock Exchange is dying.
We have dropped out of the top 20 IPO markets, falling behind Mexico.
In 2006 London raised $51bn, this year it was $248m.
A 99% decrease.
Some thoughts on why this matters and how we change course

International Electricity price comparisons are out today and it's not good news for the UK.
The UK keeps the #1 spot for Industrial prices, and goes from 4th to 2nd for Domestic prices.
