Why is the Govt silent on JKAS age restoration?

For OM candidates, any age increase without removing the attempt cap is a cruel joke.

Restore pre-2018 criteria: 37 years + no attempt cap.

Our office has received representations on several occasions regarding the age and attempt restrictions for JKAS aspirants under the Open Merit category.

Before 2018, OM candidates could appear until the age of 37 with no cap on attempts. The subsequent reduction to 32 years and six attempts has significantly narrowed their opportunity to compete.

At a time when opportunities for OM aspirants are already shrinking, there is a strong case for restoring the upper age limit to 37 years and removing the cap on attempts, in line with the broader practice followed by states across India.

The concerns raised by aspirants deserve due consideration by the authorities.
